Do your parents/ or do you as a parent, on special occasions like holidays let your Teens have a little wine or some type of alcohol?A small amount ofcourse.

My parents don't care if I am drinking around them..not like hard liquior, but like last night all of us had a few glasses of wine. How else would they get us to stay home on a holiday:lol:? When I was a kid they'd give me a sip. I remember how much I hated wine, yet i'd still take a sip because I thought I was cool:lol:

But my irish side of the family(which I hate) if me and my bro and sister ever go there for some holiday(which is rare), they don't care what we drink as long as we're not driving home. Most of the time I act as their bartender. Irish coffee with desert is a normal thing for them.

I was born in Dominican Republic, and over there..there really is no drinking age. It's supposedly "18" but nobody cares, people will sell you drinks anywhere and everywhere. So my parents on special occasions let me have a glass or two of wine.

I've had some sips of wine and beer. I hated it- :lol:

Same here. I had Thanksgiving at my friend's house yesterday and they offered me some. I couldn't because I was driving home later.

My mom never made any big deal about us drinking underage as long as we stayed at the house and didn't go anywhere. I never saw any interest in it though. I'm the only one in my family who never drank.

Yeah, I've had wine before -- we do it on New Year's too. But the last couple of years, I've been drinking non-alcoholic wine, and I think it's a great alternative. Plus, they make some really awesome-tasting ones. I esp. like the wildberry one they make. :liplick:

I had a glass of champagne at my cousin's engagement party, and wedding.

My daddy made me something w/ something in it the other night, it was yummy

And in my house, the first time you come back from college (Thanksgiving) you're treated like ur 21 and can drink whatever you want.

My parents let me have small amounts whenever-- champagne, wine, beer

I think it makes sense because if I'm allowed small amounts at home, I don't feel like some of my friends where I have to go out and get drunk on the weekends.

Yeah, I had it when it turned 2003. It made me sick, I'd rather stick to drinking cider for New Year's. It looks like wine except it's better. :lol:

My mom doesn't care, so I could if I wanted to drink. And at my cousin's fiance's graduation party last summer, my aunt kept telling me I should drink beer, but I don't like it.

My parents don't let me, but on New Years and such, they don't even notice. Like at my cousins wedding 2 years ago I got drunk off champagne. They didn't notice. Other times I just sneak it. What they don't know won't hurt them... not like I drive anyway.

One time I had a little sip of a wine cooler and I thought it tasted horrible. puke: Since then I have had no desire to have any type of hard drink so even if my parents did allow me a sip, I would decline it anyway.

Wine coolers barley have any alochol in them. Most are like 3.3%. You probably just didn't like the flavor.

I didn't know that. :o Maybe the next time someone is having a beer at my house I'll ask for a sip of it and then I'll tell you guys what I think.

pretty much all underage drinking stays in the house...and I am not allowed to drive...but I dont drink too often, cept that one time when we won states all got ****faced and went to school the next day plastered;)

it was actually quite amusing, my friend whos a year younger, las year she was a freshman and carrying beers for this senior and 1 of our coaches whos a teacher @ school was like "what are you doing...?"

My parents don't care as long as I ain't drivin, but pretty much everybody drinks down here in the South....it's funny what's considered a holiday here because I drink a little on holidays, but my dad buys me packs of beer when we go to the Hogs games.

My folks didn't care, but I didn't want any. I hate wine.

Wildberry is actually the only one I like. Oh and strawberry. But a wine cooler wouldn't be my first choice of drink, i don't really like the fruity taste.

My parents are really weird when it comes to stuff like that but at my friend's wedding in September they let me have champagne and a Bloody Mary and then my mom made a big deal out of it when my neighbor let my friend and I have shots of Blue Maui on Halloween. They freak out over that stuff but my one friend's parents don't even care so if I want my alcohol I go there. ;)

I'm 18. After I made my last post in this thread I remembered something that made me change my mind about taking that small sip. You see years ago one of my sisters came over to visit and she had beer. Another one of my sisters had a sip of it and I'll tell you the look on her face after experiencing the after taste was priceless. I could tell she hated it. Another thing that I thought of was what my mother told me on my birthday yesterday: Just because you can doesn't mean that you should. So in this case I won't even though I can.

On New Years Eve my parents let me hae a couple of sips of whine. But I don't take it, because I've tried it once, and it was gross. It made me want to puke, I couldn't get the taste out of my mouth. :lol:
