I just started watching the BBC version of Coupling (after the bombout NBC version).

Anyone out there watch this that can give me some sort of background on these characters? The episode I saw tonight was from the second season I think.

They have a section devoted to Coupling, with an episode guide that will give you some idea about what has been going on.

I think there should be some info on the cast as well..

Steve Taylor [Jack Davenport] - Steve (occupation still unknown) used to go out with Jane (for over 4 years), but is now heavily commited to Susan. He tends to find himself in embarrasing situations.

Patrick Maitland [Ben Miles] - Patrick (businessman) went out with Susan for a short while, but currently has his eyes on Sally. He is the member of the men side who represents extreme levels of confidence and is similar to Joey (from NBC'S Friends).

Jeff Murdoch [Richard Coyle] - Jeff (works in an accounting firm) represents extreme fear when it comes to women and sex, ending up saying the most strangest things in conversations with the opposite sex. Once tried to hook up with Susan, but blacked out before it even started. [Jeff will not appear in the fourth season].

Jane Christie [Gina Bellman] - The "Patrick" of the women's side, with extreme confidence. Claims to be bisexual and vegetarian, but she doesn't have proof to back up either. Involved with Steve for quite a while. At times the most strange of the females.

Sally Harper [Kate Isitt] - Often represents fear like Jeff. Was the only women who Patrick failed with. Sally works in a beauty salon and always has issues with her look - her neck, her bottom, aging.

Susan Walker [Sarah Alexander] - Steve's (now) long-time girlfriend. Works in the same accounting firm as Jeff (although higher up). She's had loads of boyfriends, and tends to get into situations that she doesn't want to be in - the perfect match for Steve.

Oliver ???? [Richard Mylan, season 4+] Somewhat a dork, works in a bookstore. Set up on a blind date with Jane, tries to work himself into the group. First appearing later this year.
