I posted this in chit chat too but there might be someone here who can help me out...

I have a Samsung SCL810 Hi 8 8 MM Camcorder. It uses the little Hi-8 tapes and has the LCD Screen and stuff.

When I got it it came with the red/yellow cords that you use to connect VCR's together to tape one to another. I want to transfer video of my daughter that I have taken with this camcorder onto a regular size tape but I cannot for the LIFE of me figure out how to do it. I think I'm following the instructions right fro the book in connecting the cables from the camcorder to the playing VCR. When it would play on the VCR then I would tape it onto the other tape, right?

Well that doesn't work.

Anyone out there real knowledgable abut this stuff that could help me out?

Thanks

Hook up the little cords, yellow to yellow, red to red and/or white to white..if it has that... make sure you're tv is on TV mode not VCR mode.....Hit your Play button on your camcorder...you should see it on your tv screen... pop in a black VHS tape....and hit record. This should record what's on the screen (your camcorder footage).

I did this all the time... I sample recording for 10 seconds... hit play on the cam croder then hit Record on the VCR...and wait 10 seconds. Then hit STOP. Rewind your VHS tape to see if your 10 seconds of footage recorded. If it did, then you're good to go. hope this helps, it works for me...
