I have a Samsung SCL810 Hi 8 8 MM Camcorder. It uses the little Hi-8 tapes and has the LCD Screen and stuff.

When I got it it came with the red/yellow cords that you use to connect VCR's together to tape one to another. I want to transfer video of my daughter that I have taken with this camcorder onto a regular size tape but I cannot for the LIFE of me figure out how to do it. I think I'm following the instructions right fro the book in connecting the cables from the camcorder to the playing VCR. When it would play on the VCR then I would tape it onto the other tape, right?

Well that doesn't work.

Anyone out there real knowledgable abut this stuff that could help me out?

Thanks

Make sure the VCR you're transferring it onto is on the "VIDEO" or "AV" channel. Also make sure that you have the cords connected correctly, from the OUTPUT of the camcorder to the "INPUT" of the VCR.

I thought I did that. I know I had the Input/Output thing right.

All i did was take the cables out of the VCR that I use to tape from one to another and put in the ones from the camcorder. It said that the picture should appear "RIGHT there!" on the screen and then I could just hit record on the regular recording VCR. But that didn't happen.

How do I know if I have the VIDEO or AV channel? Is that like the LINE IN thing?

Did that make sense?
