Earlier this evening, I was making dinner. I had already eaten so it was only for my husband.
I had his plate in the kitchen, ready to bring into the dining room. It was chicken parm, pasta and meatballs. I lost my grip on the plate and it hit the floor. The plate didn't break but sort of bounced, and it resulted in a huge mess.

Man, tomato sauce can travel. It was on the fridge, stove, cabinets and my cat's food and water dishes were filled with Italian food. I even had sauce on me.

So, the hubby's waiting, having just finished a salad. He had the wine and garlic bread going, and I had no dinner to serve.
He's cool--I ordered a pizza. It took me forever to clean the mess.

Anyone got a clumsy mess story?

After making a delicious casserole one evening, I was getting ready to pull it out of the oven so I could set it down on the stove to cool for a few minutes. As soon as I turned around, my dog comes barreling through the kitchen, thus causing me to lose my balance and in the process I drop the dish.. it shattered, the casserole landed all over the place and there I was with this dumb expression on my face. After I few minutes all I could do was laugh because the poor dog had this "What'd I do?" look.

That's just one of the many things I've done over the years. :lol:

Summer, 1996.

We were in the midst of a four-day family reunion. The location: my second cousin's house, where we were all having brunch. There were probably 60-75 of my relatives there.

Inside was the food (they set up kind of a buffet-type thing) and outside were my many, many family members.

Long story short: the screen on their slider was very nice. One could hardly tell there was even a screen there! Don't worry, though. I did wind up buying them a new one!

Years ago, my cousin told me she was taking a pan of lasagne from the oven. Instead of just picking up the pan, she pulled the oven rack out. Somehow, the lasagne fell behind the rack, turned upside down and the contents just sizzled on the hot oven surface.

I'm constantly doing clumsy things.
To name a few:

Round off the walls everyday
Forget a cupboard's open and slam my head into it
Forget the car door's open after putting my son in the back seat and hit myself with it
I've leaned back on the chair I'm in right now, and forget not to go to far because I always end up on my head.

Let me think, there's so many more. I'll be back when I think of more. :lol: :lol:

I just thought of another one.
The other night we were at my mom's for dinner and I was taking the salad out to the dining room and somehow I managed to take hold of a piece of string that got caught on the chair and it took out me, the salad, the chair, and a picture on the wall. :lol:

I have a 2 shelves in my closet and I had one of those plastic storage containers on top of one of the shelves. I was standing on a chair trying to get the thing down and it was heavier then I thought. I flipped over the chair and hit the floor. Every thing that was in the conatiner flew out. And I also injured my knee. All I could do was laugh though.

That's a doozy. Speaking of closets, I have a walk-in with built in organizer shelves. On the largest and longest shelf, I had the top of it loaded beyond words with everything--holiday decorations, boxes of everything, books, you name it. On the rod attached under the shelf, I had about a million pounds of clothes hanging.
Last year, I awoke to a thundering crash. The shelf had given way to the immense weight on top and below it. I'll never forget that sound--the breaking of Christmas ornaments and everything else.
My clumsiness didn't cause this -- my stupidity did. My husband then reinforced the shelves with nuts, bolts and additional poles to hold the shelves.
I think it can withstand about 10 tons now, so I can continue shopping. ;)

I've heard of people walking straight through glass sliding doors, often with terrible consequences. I've heard it's a good idea to put decals or something on a glass door.

I've got one! (not a really clumsy story, but still)

Almost 3 years ago, in December 2000, I was heading to school one morning with my mom driving me. She used to have a Subaru Legacy station wagon (she totalled it last month :(), and I think all Subi's (as she used to call them) don't have this...thing on the top of the doors that protect the glass. You know? Same idea as a convertible (sp?) when you make the top go down and it doesn't have that thingy on the top.

Well, anyway, here's the story. I put my backpack in the back of the car (like I usually did), closed that door and was about to get into the car...but when I opened the door to get in, the door hit me in the face and the corner of the glass scratched my glasses BIG-TIME! :eek: The glass wasn't that rough or anything, but still. It was pretty bad. :( It also scratched one side of my face...Try going to school with a fresh scratch on your face and having everybody ask you what happened. :rolleyes: I just made up stories that day. :lol:

That was two pairs of glasses ago...:D

We have a sliding door here and thankfully we don't have that problem because it's the kind that gives off the many-paneled glass look...so it'd be pretty impossible to walk through it and not see it. :lol:

BUT! OMG, you just reminded me. I once had a sliding door FALL on me. :eek: (I forgot about that!) It was nearly 4 years ago, in early 2000, around Easter. I was at an uncle's house and it was really nice outside, so a lot of us were standing outside. My uncle's two children (my cousins - both in their 30's at that time) were over as well, with THEIR kids. One of the cousins' sons (one of my 2nd cousins) was running around, in and out of the house and out to the deck. My uncle's sliding door wasn't exactly stable, so at one time when my 2nd cousin was running out, he gave the sliding door enough air to start falling outwards (I was outside on the deck, a few feet away from it) and then it hit me in the face and knocked off my glasses! :eek: I had a nice, lovely scratch on one side of my face and couldn't find my glasses because I'm blind as a bat without them...I was so scared I wasn't going to be able to find my glasses because the gaps in my uncle's deck was pretty wide (it had just enough space for a pair of glasses to be able to fall through), but luckily one of my cousins found it and handed it back to me...Unscratched. :lol:

I'd forgotten about that until the subject of sliding doors came up. :lol:

This summer I wanted to go for a late night swim in my pool. I got everything ready went to go out the door with chips and pop. Then wam walked right through a screen door.

I'm not exactly a klutz, but I can be a little lost at times :lol:

I trip up the stairs at school at least once a week. Today was down, though. I've graduated.

Once, in Biology, we were mixing chemicals or something, and we had to take it to the front of the room to get it checked. Someone had left the book in the middle of the aisle, and I tripped. I caught myself, but the little container thing (we learned the proper name, but I forgot) fell and the contents spilled too. I got an F.

Basically, I do something clumsy everyday. :D

I'm always tripping over and bumping into things. I have bruises all over my legs from it. In the summer, when i have shorts on and people see the bruises they always ask me if I was in a fight or something.

Last month I set my pants on fire at work.

That's the first time that has ever happened.
