I'm not always the greatest at reading stories online because sometimes my eyes bother me, but last night, I managed to read Luckymama's "Salvation", and I just loved it. The scenic detail, the (ahem) description ... besides, I think she put all our secret wishes into words.

Now I can't wait to read more stories by all you talented authors. I wrote fanfiction in the past, too, and it would be terrific to write about Freddie!

If you're having trouble reading stuff online, you can set your text to be a larger size for easier reading.We love all the fanfictions & can't wait to read more! :)

It's not the text size that bothers me so much; I use my eyes a lot, and sometimes I just need to give them a rest. I have a chronic inflammation called uveitis, and last Christmas it flared up really badly; to make a long story short, I'm very blessed that I still have my eyesight! Since then, when my eyes get tired, I turn off the computer, close whatever book I'm reading, and just let them rest.

I'm so glad I started reading the fanfics, though. And I can see there are lots more I can look forward to!

Thank you victorianscribe for your warm words for my story. A funny side note to that story. When I first wrote it 2 and a half years ago (:eek: OMG has it been that long???) I was a newbie to this whole internet message board experience. I teach religion and science in a catholic school and have to teach sex ed to 5th graders. I didn't know if any of my parents would accidentally stumble on to my story and think, "OMG and I let this teacher teach my kid about sex?!?!?!" So I used a sudonym for the author, since my kids and parents have my email, which is the same as my screen name. A lot of water has gone under that bridge and I guess I am not as frightened by the possiblilities of being "found out". The way I figure it, we are all entitled to our pasttimes. And I suppose it is a good story that wins out in the end. :) (and we all know we would love to do this to Freddie, so to my critics I say, get a life! LOL)

I at one time almost used a different when I started my dramatic story. I had already had emailed the first part of the story with my first and last name on it! It was too late for me to change it and the idea of later changing my name as the author seemed kinda out of the question then and now. I have wondered and feared what people thought about the story "Deseos del corazon" most of you knew it as Mera mami. Especially with the characters Chico and Mando who deal with a woman named Suzanne!:o

Just wanted to share the backstory on this one. My "other dark angel" is a musician who started playing in a band when he was 11. By the age of 15 he was a featured player (guitar) and singer. His big solo was the song "Up on the Roof" by the Drifters, from which the title of this story is taken.

When he first saw a pic of me, he said I reminded him of someone, but it took him a long time to remember who. Turns out it was an older girl who used to come to all their shows when they played his adopted hometown of Roanoke, VA. The first line of the story is his major memory of her--how she always danced right in front of him. She also really did help the boys with their homework backstage. The rest, however, is fiction.

Hope you all enjoy it--I had a great time getting inside the head of a 16 year old black boy in the 60's LOL!

While Mando uses the old standard method. Hee hee. It is a little graphic, but mildly descriptive. Let me just say that Chico is enjoying it thoroughly!
