I finally saw the very very first Wings episode!!
It was so weird to watch, because the cast was so rigid with each other at the beginning! It's weird! The only two who had that working chemistry with each other right away were Joe and Brian. They really played off each other well in that first episode. They had that brotherly chemistry ever since the bbeginning. But the rest of them, you could tell that the actors were just getting a feel for each other. There wasn't even any Joe/Helen chemistry AT ALL, and that was weird. lol!
It seems like they filmed this episode a little while before the rest of season 1, because I didn't think the second episode was like that- the actors were playing off each other really well, i thought, by the second episode. And I know sometimes with TV shows, they film just the pilot of a series and wait to see if it's picked up by a network before they film any more episodes... does anyone know if they did that with Wings, because it sort of seemed that way.
and it was the only other Wings episode that I've seen, besides "The Pupetmaster", where they showed both levels of the terminal at the same time- the upstairs balcony, and the downstairs.
And they showed the lunch counter from a weird camera angle a few times at the beginning that they never used again.
LOL I notice weird things.,..
The weirdest thing was Lowell, and the fact the Brian didn't know who Lowell was!! I was always under the impression that Lowell, Brian, Joe, and Helen had all known each other since they were kids. Later in the series, you get that impression that Lowell knew Helen and the Hacjkett brothers since they were in school together. Like in "Das Plane" when Brian pointed out Carlton as being the guy at high school on career day who banged pencils into boards with his head, and I think I remember Lowell remembering that from school.. and then there was the "Miss Jenkins" episode where Joe, Brian, Helen, Casey, and Lowell all had had Miss Jenkins as a teacher in school... so you know they all at least went to the same high school. OH! and there was the episode where Helen and Casey's mom came to visit, and you get the impression that Lowell has known Helen, Casey, and their family for just about as long as Joe and Brian have.
So that was just really bizarre in the first episode when Brian had first come in, and Lowell said something, and Brian says to Joe, "who's that?".
