Elroy was a cool dude and was not GOOFY like Grady at all. Elroy was the one friend that Fred never insulted. FRed always had something to say about Grady, and Bubba.

NOTE: THe first episode of the spinoff Grady which premeired on NBC on December 4, 1975, Elroy takes Fred to Grady's New home so they could drop off the rest of Grady's belongings. It was clear from that drop off that Elroy was FRed's new sidekick

I don't like to correct people, because I think it is rude. But if I am not mistaken, there was no Elroy on Sanford and Son, the only friends of Fred's that I remember are:

Leroy, Bubba, Skillet, Melvin, Grady.

Once again no harm, maybe I'm wrong.:)

I THINK ELROY WAS THE OLD GUY WHO MOVED INTO THE SANFORD ARMS. A BUM OF AN ACTOR.

NO both of you are wrong. Elroy did not live in the Sanford Arms. He came on Sanford and Son right after Grady left. Elroy and Hutch were hanging with Fred. Elroy was first seen in the episode ESCORTS.

No Elroy wasn't in the George Foreman episode. His first episode was THE ESCORTS

I hate to correct you, but Elroy was indeed in the episode with George Forman. He was in like 3 scenes. He was Fred's assistant when he was directing the play. Fred asked him for coffee and fresh sweet rolls.

Yes you are right. I was wrong. I'm watching the episode now and Elroy was definitely in the episode. It was also his last episode.

Who the heck was Elroy? I don't recall him at all. Sanford and Son sort of went south on Fred's return. I don't watch the later seasons as much. Perhaps I just overlooked him. Was he in a lot of episodes?

NO WAY WAS ELROY BETTER THAN GRADY!!!!!

Grady was the funniest pal of Fred's as well as Bubba, Leroy, and Skillet were too! Uh-Uh. Nope Nope Nope.

The episodes where Fred was away and Grady stayed with Lamont are some of the funniest episodes ever of "S & S".

There is nothing funny about Grady. Maybe he was funny looking but that's it. When I bought the 3rd season of sanford and son, i didn't watch the remaining 6 episodes. Can you guess why?

Plus, Grady was more "bumbling" than "goofy" eh? :)

Maybe Grady was too goofy, but so is Kramer on "Seinfeld" and whatever sitcom Andy Dick is on playing the same guy in a different office on two different shows and he's not funny at all!:crazy:

What's your point?

Point is: You don't like characters that are goofy and I don't know your opinion about Kramer but he's goofy or even wacky and far fetched than Grady ever was.
