I copied this off of IMDb.com/

"I read somewhere online that Nora Ephron is taking a lot of creative liberties with this flick and it might not be like the series. From what I hear, Samantha will be a witch from another world, who comes to Earth to escape the pressures of her family. She then takes on a job as an actress on a tv show about a witch who marries a mortal.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. On one hand, being a HUGE fan of Bewitched, I'm ready to accept ANY version of it on the big screen because I'd like to see it make a "mini comeback". It also makes it easier for me to accept Will Ferrell as Darrin. I'm a big fan of his, and I think he's hilarious, but not quite right for the part. On the other hand, being such a huge fan, I don't want to see this movie get ruined by a wierd plotline. Part of me wants a modern twist, the other half yearns for the way I remember it being when I was a kid."

If this is true I don't like it either. Why doesn't she stick with what works, the "magic" of the show, and maybe modernize it a little. Oh boy.

Wow, that is the dumbest plot I've ever heard. Why can’t Hollywood just leave the old TV shows alone? Oh, I forgot they’re running out of their own ideas so now they have to ruin our TV classics too. ohno:

That Jim Carrey/Will Farrel news is a major rumor.

Actually I kind of like the idea of them modifying the original plot, since they seem to insist on releasing a movie remake. (althought I'd still prefer to NOT see a remake at all...)

That way, we won't in any way associate the original plot (the "true" version of Bewitched) with the new actors. I would think of it as a "spoof" rather than a "remake."

I'm tired of spoofs. If they're going to remake it then remake it.

Do you mean make an adaptation?

To many of these remakes have been dissapointing because they change the whole reason they were popular in the first place.

Yeah, There has to be GREAT Care taken by the Best in the business to make sure at least some of the Magic of the original show/plot be captured......that alone will be a huge feat! They need the absolute best working on this Movie and then run it by hundreds of reputalble die hard fans of the show.....those are the eyes best suited to make sure this dosen't turn out to be a stinker. Let's all hope for the best so we can all view this as a Trubute to one of the GREATEST shows in TV history![/B]
