Does anyone remember The Animated Adventures Of Star Trek?It was a cartoon version from the early 1970s.I think it only lasted one year[1973].But episodes of this series are available on vhs.Personally I found the series kind of corny. The openning and closing instramental theme sounds kind of dumb. But I guess it was basically aimed at children as Saturday morning kiddie cartoon fare.Probably not one of the most popular shows of that time.

And I wish there was an official DVD release.

yes, I remember that show. I never watched it; as I wasn't in to "Star Trek" at the time-I didn't get in to it until the first movie, a few years later-but some of the episodes were supposed to be pretty good. In fact, the series, I forget,, either won an emmy, or was nominated for one, and I think it was the first animated series to do so.
Also, almost the entire cast did voices for that-I think Leanord Nimoy & James Doohan were the only holdouts.

The entire TV series cast supplied the voices for their animated versions.
