John Candy is SO endearing! I love him so! What a sweetie! How I miss this wonderful guy!:( Penny Lane 11-18-2003, 07:46 PM Oops! Sorry! This was meant for the movies board! I clicked on the wrong one! Please move it TJ! Brian 11-18-2003, 09:38 PM It was an honest mistake. I'll move it. I do think it was a really funny movie. Steve Martin and John Candy were hilarious. AllIWantIsYourClutch 11-18-2003, 10:02 PM OMG I thought that movie was SO sad! Penny Lane 11-19-2003, 10:06 AM Originally posted by TradingMooses OMG I thought that movie was SO sad! Yup, it starts out being so funny! But it is really a heartwrencher at the end isn't it? :( Janice 11-19-2003, 02:00 PM I also love this movie. It really tugs at your heartstrings. John Candy. I was a huge fan, and I get sad whenever I see his films. :( EricIdlefan 11-19-2003, 05:28 PM John Candy reminds me a lot of John Madden, the former Raiders coach turned legendary football commentator!! M82A1 11-19-2003, 06:46 PM Who else loved that scene at the airport?   Jessica 08-09-2009, 04:24 PM I had to upload this scene on youtube. One of the best scenes and best quotes of John Candy. I wantegd to share it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zr-LrmC9Fmk Schmoopie 08-09-2009, 10:35 PM Thanks for posting that. What a wonderful scene. I miss John Candy! I love that scene, because it shows that he was as good of a dramatic actor as he was a comedic one. Plus, Steve Martin deserved it, although he was finally able to let his bottled up feelings out, he didn't realize what an impact they would make. Jessica 08-10-2009, 12:40 AM Exactly. I also uploaded as a small both John Candy and John Hughes tribute. Hawkee 11-23-2017, 04:07 AM Every year I watch the movie Planes Trains And Automobiles and each time I watch it fun and laughter always makes it great to watch. And Steve Martin and the late John Candy made a great comedy team in the movie. It would be cool if a remake of Planes Trains And Automobiles was made with Drew Carey in the John Candy role and Will Ferrell in the Steve Martin role. And another fact about Planes Trains And Automobiles is that David Spade played a cameo role as a guy who robbed John Candy's and Steve Martin's room Do you like the movie Planes Trains And Automobiles? Bestie PhoenixAcres 11-23-2017, 01:57 PM Yeah it's a great film. I don't think a remake is necessary though. Edison 11-23-2017, 02:35 PM It's perfect. No remake. KRW 11-23-2017, 03:22 PM None of John Hughes movies should be remade. AMackII 11-23-2017, 06:03 PM It basically remains one of the greatest classic films of the 1980s in my opinion. Tubehead 11-24-2017, 01:25 AM there remaking the great out doors staring kevin heart!! Chocolate Moose 11-24-2017, 10:26 AM there remaking the great out doors staring kevin heart!! Now that's just silly! TJ 11-23-2022, 11:38 PM I love Planes, Trains and Automobiles. I watch it every year. I saw they released a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray with 75 minutes of deleted and extended footage yesterday. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BH566NHR?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1&linkCode=ll1&tag=happydaysonline3-20&linkId=dbc1a58ed2d5856c101a264a66509180&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl mmApp8CzTfg Hawkee 11-24-2022, 03:54 AM I saw Planes Trains And Automobiles a minute ago and I agree with TJ it is a really funny movie. One scene that I cannot figure out is when Del's friend's son Owen appears is how that scene made it into the movie? Because I find that scene funny but Owen has bad manners and he should've asked his wife to help Del and Neal find the way to the train station as a token of thanks. But I find it surprising that Neal should've offered Del to share his room with him as a way of getting Del out of the cold at first but it was great that Del and Neal remained friends at the end of the movie Bestie MA 11-24-2022, 08:52 AM I like the cover of Everytime You Go Away that plays at the end: f-Il8Hm1LqQ An interesting fact about the cover version is that Hughes planned to use Paul Young's well-known hit version but was denied the rights by the record company even though Young approved of Hughes' planned use of the song and wanted to see it included. |
