So what does everyone think about Britney Spears' Outfits? Are they slutty, outlandish, loud? I think she looks good in her little outfits on tour! Go Britney!

I would looove to see her in these. (http://www.partydomain.co.uk/d-commerce/media/accsillyclownshoes.jpg)

I cannot believe she's gotten a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In my eyes, the value of one of them stars is suddenly cheapened. Used to be you had to actually make a significant accomplishment to earn one. Now all y'need is some over-exposure, lip-sync a few shows a year, learn a few tired dance steps, take off your clothes & sing songs you didn't write. Congrats Britney...

Guess Aaron Carter's up for one next.

They are all of the above, and beyond. But if she wants to make herself look like a whore, then go ahead.

You don't need to strip naked in order to sing.

Well I'm somewhat relieved myself since this morning. Turns out I had no idea how someone really gets one of those stars. I found out that you've got to apply for one w/ the Hollywood City Council and if you're approved you pony up a couple of thousand bucks. Voila.

So it would seem that Britney's publicity machine has been working overtime to have the star coincide w/ her album release as opposed to her "getting chosen' for one by some prestigious panel of judges.

The message: All you need is a name & a few thousand bucks.

I mean, just because she wears bad clothes doenst mean she deserves nothing she's getting...

I for one, would like to know how.

One change, in my eyes is that she's helped make lip-syncing (more) acceptable.

Did she carry a whip while she was lip-synching? I missed it.

Not in my memory, it hasn't. I'm thinking back to Milli Vanilli about 15 years ago. They were pretty much through after that whole lip-sync scandal. It wasn't *quite* as acceptable then, that's for sure. So, of course she wasn't the 1st & didn't invent it, but the fact that
it's common knowledge she does this at her shows & still continues to sell cds, shows me it's somewhat the norm today....& she's helping that train of thought.

I dont see how its wrong. Its not as if the people going to her shows dont know what to expect.

And thus today's acceptance of lip-syncing.

Call me old school, but when *I* pay to see a live show, I for one want to hear live singing, not a cd.

As for Milli Vanilli, you suggesting people would've accepted it had it been their own voices? Their voices or not- I think the practice at concerts is a total ripoff.

Its her fans. Its not like everyone in the world accepts it. Its not music, its entertainment. People like her, they like to see her perform.

Yes, people would of accepted it. Like they didn't realize they were lipping in the first place? It was their manager that sold them out, if I remember correctly. People still wanted to see them even after the tape skipped.

its not like going to a rock concert and expecting the lead singer to synch. thats not accepted.

its accepted in the pop genre.

Well it would seem to me those fans are getting bamboozled...but they don't care. Because you're damn right- it ain't music.

I doubt anyone outside of their inner circle was aware of it or else it would've come out long before it actually did. And I don't remember a peep before the infamous concert.

If you 'remember correctly'? This happened about 1989. There's no way you were born in 1987 then.

People still wanted to see them even after the tape skipped.

Sort of, but for how much longer? Their fan base shrank considerably afterwards & they died a fairly fast death after it all happened.
