Hey guys - I was typing my homework last night and my computer decided to shut down. It now says I don't have a mouse, or a keyboard, or a hard drive :rolleyes: This is really annoying...

I'm typing this on my friend's computer - so just to let u all know, I'm not gonna be here for at least a week (probably longer), while they try to figure out what's wrong w/ it. Just wanted y'all to know I haven't died or anything ;) :wave:

I'm one of those people currently dealing with computer problems, like Kate mentioned. Liza, you're not alone - my computer died on me for good on Saturday the 15th. I can't even boot up! All the power lights that come on are orange instead of green. :crying: So I'm typing this from a comp at my dad's (I mainly stay with my mom). To make a long story short, my dad & his wife are in San Francisco for a convention, and aren't coming back til Wednesday. So I'm screwed either way. :o

We have had our computer "sick" at times that we are thinking about switching both the computer and internet server!!

My computer used to have my Windows 98 running but now it crashs 3 times over the last couple of months. Now, I got my Windows XP running and it works perfectly.

That sucks! I hope you get it working soon. I always enjoy reading what you have to say. I'll try pm'ing you with a few tips as to how you might be able to fix it. My brother was having major computer problems last week, and I walked him through them, and now it's working fine. Sometimes it's just a really simple thing causing tons of problems. Who knows, maybe I can help you. If not, I hope you get it fixed soon. Believe me, I know how much computer problems can suck! In the two years or so Iv'e had a computer, Iv'e dealt with just about every problem known to mankind.

hmm... it's weird i know so much people who had computer problems lately... my own computer didnt work for the past 10 days, because my mainboard decided not to work any longer :rolleyes:
but now i got a new one and everything works fine.

Heh that sounds like something my computer would do. Mine is so haunted... I'll be online or typing my homework or something, and all of a sudden, without any warning, it'll just restart. When it boots up, I always get error messages or something. My computer sucks. I knew I should have gotten a Dell...

Anyway, I hope you can get it fixed really soon! We'll miss you :wave:

Thanks guys :) Well, my computer's still broken - the Gateway store is too busy (my fault for waiting until the week before Thanksgiving for calling) Anyways, it's at least letting me online now, just no mouse :rolleyes: :rolleyes: You don't know how awful that is until you experience it.... well anyways, thanks to all of you for your help/suggestions. I appreciate it. Hopefully it'll be fixed next week :wave:

I've never liked Gateway, never will (Same with Compaq too). What's ironic is I am typing this post to you on a Gateway! :crazy:

Anyway, here's a lil update on me, since I mentioned in this thread that my comp died on me almost two weeks ago... I ordered a new comp last night and it should be here BEFORE December 5th. :banana: I can't wait!
