Today KISW is playing the top 99 songs by Led Zeppelin!! And I kinda thought at first, uhh, gee, we can hear Led Zeppelin any old time...and then they announced they would play even the bootlegs, out-takes, and live stuff, and everything else!! So far this is interesting!!! So far they are playing the live "Song Remains the Same" version of "Whole Lotta Love"--one of my favorite songs on the planet because this version is so trippy and it jams!!!

I still *have* to get the new dvd! The little footage I saw from it looks fantastic. That's gonna be my next music-related dvd purchase. (Then 'A Hard Day's Night' & hopefully 'Let It Be' when it comes out.)

I'm not surprised in the least. That is an excellent song. I think it should be played on the radio more often (At least here in SD).

It's no surprise to me either & I like it too, but I think the last thing this song needs is more airplay. It's been so overplayed by radio in the last 20 years. It wins listener polls practically every year. That's why in -I think it was Wayne's World, they did that scene in the guitar store.

I think they have so many great songs. My favorite is Stairway to Heaven.

I was actually listening to that this morning. You know, like a lot of people over the past 30 years, I've heard it over and over to the point like, what's the big deal...But recently, I've started hearing it with a fresh mind and am AMAZED how that song just sends shivers up and down your spine.:eek: It is SO cool.:cool: I just can't get over that song!!!

So why does Robert Plant say he DOESN'T like the song???:confused:

I think it's easily one of the greatest rock songs ever written. Handsdown. But for me, I get the same feeling you did only if I listen to it maybe once a year or so. Too many times & it'll lose it's magic.

I know that some radio stations in other areas of the country are different when it comes to which songs they play often. I've only heard Stairway to Heaven once in my entire life...and it was only on a CD, not on the radio.

That song is amazing! It goes from one extreme to another, and does it so beautifully. I mean, you have the gorgeous flutes at the beginning and then you end up with an awesome guitar solo closer to the end. Its definately one of my all time favorites.
