The "Lost Episodes" were sketches of The Honeymooners done as part of The Jackie Gleason Show. They ranged from five minutes to hour long sketches. I think they began in 1951, and then in 1955-1956 season, they spun-off into their own half-hour show. Only 39 actual half-hour episodes were made, and then they continued to make more sketches the following season on The Jackie Gleason Show. In the 1980's, with the popularity of the classic 39 in reruns, Jackie Gleason introduced the original sketches and released them under the title "Lost Episodes".

I don't know how many episodes were made in total, but I know there are more Lost Episodes than the Classic 39.
