A few days ago on a UK news channel it was reported that Jude Law is being considered to be in a film where, using newly developed technology- modern day actors will interact with actors from the 50's to do a movie. Nothing is said about the plot- but I'd be interested in seeing this work. It could mean the young Jerry Lewis, Marilyn Monroe, Jack Lemmon and countless others being in one film with Jude Law and other actors. since people keep talking about how Renee Zellwegger is like our modern day Doris Day from Down With Love's release- why not cast her in it?

weird - i can't quite explain it, but that just seems wrong somehow. Maybe cuz Jerry Lewis and Doris Day are still alive - I'd rather see them make new movies, personally.

Actually I remember Mike Meyers talking about a similar concept a few years ago. Certainly special effects have advanced enough that the results would be amazing to watch.

Also- did anyone else read something about doing a concert using technology so it looked like Frank Sinatra was singing live on stage? I coud've swore I read that somewhere.
Anyway- if these new technology's advance much further and it takes off- you can bet that in about 8 or 9 years there'll be a new Judy Garland movie released- maybe they could pair her with Liza! This is interesting technology- I'd love to see how far it all goes!

Yes, there was a concert at Radio City Music Hall recently - they had old TV footage of Sinatra singing on a movie screen with a live orchestra playing on the stage.

I remember a series of tv commercials several years ago in which they used footage of dead actors to "dance" w/ some vacuum cleaner. The same trick was done again more recently. I think Humphrey Bogart was one they used.

I guess I have mixed feelings about it. I suppose if the actor's family/estate okays it, it's alright. But I can't help but wonder what the actor's themselves would want. Seems a little bizarre. I think on a one-shot deal, it'd be interesting to see, but I would hope it doesn't become a trend.

Yeah, remember those Coors commercials with John Wayne? They were impressive, but I doubt the Duke will be making a big screen comeback.

There will always be that fear with the great advances in computer animation that CG actors, or recreations of deceased stars would replace actual human actors.
Some actors I would love to see replaced with CG, but I doubt it will happen in my lifetime.

John Wayne, James Cagney, & Fred Astaire were computeralized in commercials that are modern-day!!
