What's your opinion on it? Should they colorize the episodes?

Yes, definitely, i am not a big fan of colorized shows or movies, but some people REFUSE to watch things in black and white and it would be yet another way for CBS to make more millions off the show! Besides the I Love Lucy Christmas special, colorized version that was shown in '91 was a big hit and everyone who has seen it says what a thrill it was to finally see the show in color. Also, that color montage on the CBS Library tapes was great to watch also!

I hate colorizing. In fact I refuse to watch colorized shows. I won't even watch the end of Babalu Music!:mad:

I stop it and hit rewind. Otherwise i might accidently peek.

A few colorized episodes would be okay, but that's it. I love the black and white, and I think it sort of gives people a sense of nostalgia.

I don't think the I Love Lucy series should be colorized. It is fine in the original black and white. If people are THAT desperate to see our beloved redhead in color, than I suggest they write TV Land requesting to add her other shows (The Lucy Show, Here's Lucy) to the network. Her later shows were filmed in color (except the first season of TLS).

I thought that the colorization was okay in the Christmas episode and Babalu Music, but I wouldn't like the whole series to be colorized. It looks so fake and takes away from the quality of the show. I agree with LucyFan, if people really want to see Lucy in color they should try to get TLS and HL back on tv.

Sure. It might get some people to watch it. The diehards would still have the black and white.

Watching it digitized takes away from it anyway. Who cares about the color at that point?

Lucy stomping grapes, drinking Vitameatavegamin or getting her nose on fire is just as funny in black and white as it would be in color.

I really don't think they would throw away the black and white reels of the originals........It would be nice for those of us who would find it interesting to view in color. Those of us who are opposed to colorization certaintly won't have to worry about it being shoved down our throughts. If these get colorized it should be available for private collection only!

Also funny, she wore gloves to hide the hands at that stage because you can tell a person's age by looking at their hands, yet she does Stone Pillow as a bag woman and shows off her long manicured nails, sheesh!

I understand the interviews (conducted this past Saturday in Santa Monica, CA) went very well. That's what i got too, i wasn't bragging, i was just surprised it took like a year for me to get it when i had registered twice to become a member of his Lucyfan club. The reason i was touched was that i remember when i used to write her fan letters, he was the one working for her and the picture he sent was the same one they used for a memorial card when she died.

Desilover, believe it or not my family doesn't mind colorizing. One of them even owns It's a Wonderful Life in color!:eek: (at least i think it's that one. Of couse I refused to watch it.:mad: )

i respect all opinions, but i am sort of tired of people always bashing colorization. People can always turn down/off the color on their TV set. I mean shows like "I Love Lucy" would have been in color originall if it weren't for WWII setting back the TV industry ten years.

Seriously, i think that within the next decade, CBS will have seen it's cash cow depleted when every fan HAS the DVD's of the series, so they will then turn to colorization for another round of raiding our wallets.

Because i post so much, i think every board has given me more freedom, i think they know i never do it maliciously, i might even say something provocative just to get things moving on a quiet board, i do that a lot, and have to learn to NOT do that. And, i get bad days like everybody else does, and i've seen others do worse and get away with it. Perfectly normal to have SOME controversy sometimes and heated discussions, but at this point, I Love most people on the boards and being like family works both ways, you feel you can be honest, but have to know when to back off.

I agree with leaving them the way they were originally made, however, after 40 years of seing them one way, it sure was nice to see them in color, or rather, look differently, even CBS videos had that color montage and that was great to see also, i think there was color on the babalu music video also, but i don't remember for sure.

Yeah babalu music had that thing at the end where the miniature Ricky was playing the bongo drum all over, like on the candy line and stuuf.:lol: :lol:
