View Full Version : John's Mom Passes Away at Age 88
Pavan 11-11-2003, 08:49 PM Entertainment Tonight is reporting that John's mom, Dorothy Fay Ritter, has passed away at age 88 on Sunday after a long illness. This is just so sad. A few years back a London newspaper (I think) reported that she passed away, but it was false and they later printed that they were wrong.
DVDFreaker 11-11-2003, 08:51 PM Oh, that is very sad! RIP Dorothy!
Mr. Television 11-11-2003, 08:54 PM Another sad day for the Ritter family. R.I.P. Dorothy. You're with John now. :(
Mariel 11-11-2003, 09:03 PM Sorry, I made another thread for this. We posted right about the same time.
This just totally sucks. R.I.P. Dorothy. Thanks for doing a great job on raising John. Look at how well he turned out and how many people love him. All this is partly because of you. So, thank you. At least, you guys are together now.
Austin Tripper 11-12-2003, 01:31 AM I bet she gave up.. I bet John's death destroyed her!!
It has done that to me :(
Crimson and Clover 11-12-2003, 01:33 AM oh no thats so sad. RIP Dorothy:(

I was thinking the exact same thing. It's not uncommon for things like that to happen. Often, if one person in an older couple dies, the other dies shortly thereafter.
Lady T 11-12-2003, 04:15 AM God Bless Dorothy..I know she is in heaven with John, sharing hugs and laughter...

Eddie Haskell 11-12-2003, 04:41 AM She was 88 for Christ's sake. RIP and all that but damn.......it may not be ALL that sad. People die, get over it.
Austin Tripper 11-12-2003, 05:16 AM I feel sorry for John's Brother :(

I was thinking that too. First his brother now his mother, and his Dad's been gone.
Also his kids. First their Father, now there grandmother.
And both within a couple of months. :(

hmmm! Do you know the meaning of compassion or empathy. Oh, guess not.
Big3sCompanyFan 11-12-2003, 06:34 AM My condolensces go out to the Ritter family and friends.
But I never knew anything about his mom. Can someone give me a link or some info about his mom?
Thanks
Dean Winchester 11-12-2003, 11:07 AM that is sad news, but look to the bright side, she's reunited with John and Tex in Heaven

yes, it's tragic but true. A friend of my brother died in October a few years ago, then in December, his younger sister was killed in a car crash, and like 2 weeks later, the mother died. I suppose a will to live gets lost when things like this happen and people are more "ready" to die knowing loved ones are waiting on the other side for them.
Plus, with the "couple" thing, look no further than Johnny and June Carter Cash. She died in May, he died the same day as JR.
