It effected me a lot. I'm one of those kids who can very shy at times, and yet very outspoken at times. Sometimes people made me feel different so much, I felt like running away. (I recently felt like running away to Seattle!) Sometimes, I wanted to kill myself. But I've never done drugs. Ever. Since FOL began on N@N, I've felt a lot happier than I was before it did. After all, I'm more into the eighties (listening to Rock Lobster right now proves it!) Anyways, how has it effected you? As always, if anyone wants to e-mail me, please do so at mary_fanofblairnjo@yahoo.com
Thanks.
Take care,
Mary

Mary, I can totally relate. I have always felt "different" and sort of excluded, and it's nice to have a tv character that you can identify with. And when I'm having a bad day, FOL always cheers me up! :-)

Well, I think I do know what you mean. Above all the shows on TV and even above every movie I've ever seen, FOL makes me "accept life for the way it is." I can't think of any other show that has this effect on me. And yes, I've been happier ever since N@N brought it back on the air, so as much as I get ticked off with N@N (which is quite often), we've got to hand it to them for at least bringing back FOL.

I totally agree. I was going to commit suicide. But thanks to FOL I didn't.

FOL has affected me in all the ways that I can relate to the show: funny reasons like the Eastland eps, serious ones like "A death in the family", and all around one of the best shows I've ever seen. Without FOL, there wouldn't be something to look forward to on TV (I'm not a fan of reality TV, sry!) every night. Go FOL! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif

I agree with you all. Ever since i was about 2, i've been a tomboy. And i never realized i was "Different" until middle school. In 6th i changed a little, but then in 7th grade i was a totally different person, because thats what everyone wanted. I acted like i liked what was cool, even though i didn't. I never spoke my mind, because i didn't want people to think different of me. But then this year (8th grade), my friend, Joe, told me to watch FOL. So i did, and within a week, it helped me realize that i have to be what i want to be, not what "They" want me to be. Jo was the one that was like me! So i am back to my normal self! Some people don't like it, but my TRUE friends don't care. ok i'll stop now!

FOL is effected me just a little. It makes me think about life a bit more deeply and emmotionally. It also makes me think about bratworst and oreos sometimes, but it really effects me in small ways.

Oh cry me a river!! I am sorry to break up your love fest! But I do not feel any remorse for all of you who wanted to commit suicide. It's your fault that you are so dumb as to want to hurt your family and friends all for your selfish act of killing yourself!! I don't give a crap if cow's learned to fly and you wanted to kill yourself! You're selfish for wanting to kill yourself. And don't come here for any remorse cuz you won't be getting any! I'm glad that Facts of Life changed your life but come on!! It didn't keep you from committing suicide!! You did!!

In speaking for myself, I never said anything about ever having suicide thoughts, I was merely stating that FOL has given me a different outlook on life, that's all. But obviously there are people here who have mentioned that they have had suicide thoughts before.

Pardon me Bessy_The_Cow, but I must say that you are are an extremely rude and insensitive person. Do you know how serious an issue suicide is? You don't even have a clue what's going on in other people's lives! While there is no justification for suicide, it is certainly disgusting of you to make people feel worse than they have already been feeling. These people who have had suicide thoughts should not have to feel guilty for any reason. Obviously they have found something to love (FOL) to pull them out of their depression, and they should be congratulated for not going through with suicide.

I can't imagine how horrible it would be if someone like you were working at a suicide hotline.

Being someone who loves the 80's I have to say that FOL has helped me in alot of ways. When I am sad I can watch & it cheers me up & takes my mind off all my problems.

I Love the 80's the sitcoms were great & so were movies. Totally love all the brat pack movies.

i cant say that fol has really changed me a lot, for example i have always been preety happy and never really thought about suicide or doing drugs or something serious like that~but in ways it has changed me because i used to be friends with all that "popular" kids and wasnt really happy with my new role and since i have watched fol i am back with my other friends and i am not saying that arent "unpopular" but they dont consider themselves above people and people dont kiss their a** to be in their group~ they are happy with themselves and even joke about there flaws and dont care about being superfical~i am much happier now then i was then and also i can be my self now and people like me for who i am~ one of my closest friends are still in the other group but they arent like the others so whatever~but in a sense fol has changed me

FOL hasn't really effected me in that many ways, but I have never really had that many friends at school because I was real tomboyish and I guess people aren't too keen on that. It's really great to turn on the TV and see somebody just like you in every way (Jo). I guess the Facts cast are like my best friends because we all have something in common. Me and Nancy could be best friends if I knew her!! So that's how it's affected me.

Its made me a diffrent person, I'm not as popular because my time is spent on FOl, but I don't care, I'm doing my hiar like Jo's and sometimes like Nancy's when she was on her IP? I'm not totally sure how they did it though? ponytail?

It didn't really affect my life that much...just kind of a thing to look forward to in the winter becuase I got home every day at 3:30 (no sports practices [I have them in Spring and Fall]). During this winter I got addicted to soo many shows, and FOL was just one of them I guess.

Stephanie: Nice move. Did you make that up
Tony: Yeah, well I saw it on TV first, then I made it up.
