Who's Autograph Pictures do you? have Just Curios.

I have Betty Whites and Tim Conways. I'm waiting on Dick Van Dyke, Rue Mclanahan, Beatrice Artur, Carol Burnett, Vicki Lawerence, Jamie Lee Curtis, Lucie Arnaz, Harvey Korman, and alot more, bur I did'nt sed SASE's on alot, so. I am thinking about writing to Vana White, and Sally Fields.

Also does anyone know if Richard Dawson is dead?

I have her colored pink shirt pic (same picture as the one below my name, but it's not ACTUALLY mine...You can see mine by clicking on my site in my siggy), her Vicki/Mama Two Woman Show promo picture and then 10 other pictures I had her sign (all at different times, of course). So that comes to 31 autographed pictures total. I THINK I remembered them all, but I'm not sure.

I'm like Mike - I collect autographed pictures as a hobby, but I just started this summer, so I don't have nearly as many pictures as he does (his collection numbers into the hundreds now, if you look at his site like he mentioned in his post). :)

Glad to hear you're sending for autographed pictures - it's such great fun getting one in the mail. :D

I am waiting and waiting on Bill Daily's autograph. And Darcie Roberts, who played Millie in the production of Thoroughly Modern Millie I saw, last Sept. I love collecting autographs. I've been doing it since I was little. My first autograph I got was LeVar Burton. Then, from there, I got Shari Lewis (I miss her :( ) and a lot of Mr. Rogers autographs. (I used to be pen pals with him) I display all my autographs on my bulletin board in my room. I love looking at them when I go to sleep. :D (The Mr. Rogers, Shari, and LeVar autographs are in an old scrapbook that is somewhere.)

The link to the free site is on the other comp, and that's at my dad's (I'm at my mom's). I'll have to remember to give you the link to that site the next time I swing by his house. :)

Yep, it'll be OK. That's what I do, fold the manila SASE's into thirds when I'm sending out a letter. :cool:

Betty White, Bea and Tim are pretty fast about replying, and the rest take about 1-2 months. It's Carol that takes a REALLY REALLY REALLY long time to hear back from. I sent off a letter to her WAY back in June of 2003, and I've heard nothing. Leigh Ann (~Dreamer2004) wrote to her two YEARS ago, and finally got a picture of her in August! :eek:

There should be a resizing option -- try resizing your pictures to at least 500 pixels in height -- that's a reasonable size...Then be sure to save it as a JPG. :)

After 6 months of not sending any autograph requests, I'm finally starting again. Hopefully I'll start getting mail again soon, too. I miss that!

I remember I used to have a hard time getting MTM's autograph. Back in '99 I would always get RTS's from her. Then there was a time in 2000 when she was only sending preprints. Finally I sent her a couple of my own pictures and she signed them. It was frustrating for a while!

I'm usually happy with whatever I get, but sometimes I prefer one over the other. I do love color, but sometimes the B/W effect makes it look more natural.

I'm not too happy about the MTM pic I got, though...It's just a boring picture...It looks like the kind of pic you'd have taken for....Er, I dunno. Business stuff.

I wish that when celebs sign really dark B&W pics (think Jay Leno, Kevin Nealon, etc), they would use a silver or gold marker to sign the pic with...I have a few pics that are like that, and they're hard to read for that reason.

Here's a picture of Kevin that I got in November...The scan doesn't capture it well enough, but it's a rather dark pic, so he used a silver gel pen to autograph the picture with...I really like it.

Yeah, that sometimes annoys me, too. When they sign on a light surface part of a B/W pic, it's not too bad, but sometimes it's horrible. A great example of that would be this pic of Shirley MacLaine I got back in September of 2000. You can barely see the writing.

I finally got an autograph again! I believe it is my first in 3 months or so. I got Lili Taylor. I have been wanting her autograph for SO long. I didn't know if it would work because I sent it to a theater where she is doing a play. Hopefully more autographs will be on their way!

I FINALLY updated my site (it very much needed it!). Now I just need to work on organizing the celebrities names/dates/descriptions better. That has been annoying me for a while.

Here is my Bette Midler. I don't know the address anymore because this was probably five years ago. I did get all of my addresses from www.stararchive.com (That was back when it was free!) The Lucille Ball autograph was a gift from someone who paid ($400!) for it. (This was at a reputable store, not an online purchase.) I don't have the Jane Wyman or Lucy one scanned just yet. When I do, I will try to post it.

Nelson loves them and I'm gonna drop them a note. Too late for his birthday (2 weeks) but late is better than never. He's been a big Ozzy fan for 20+ years.

I used to love to collect autographs, but got out of it. Sadly, I can't even find some of mine anymore.

Some of these may go long because they have cool stories:

-Ken Ober, Kari Wuhrer, Steve Treccase and Colin Quinn from MTV's Remote Control - I got 2 letters from them on MTV Remote Control letterhead and envelopes. I have no clue what happened to them. I was in 10th and 11th grade - would have been the late 80's.

-Mike Nesmith - postcard from his now-defunct Pacific Arts Video (he's still in business, but not under that name) - Mike doesn't like to supply autographs because he detests autograph dealers so he'll sign stuff if you buy it off his website and he prefers to personalize it (harder to sell) - www.videoranch.com if anyone's interested - anyway, it was a postcard I got about 1987 and it's a pre-printed signature - no clue where it is

-Peter Tork - postcard received in 1987 - believed to be pre-print (believe it or not it was hard to tell due to damage on the card from post office - no clue where it is

-Davy Jones: autographed pin advertising a book he had in the works called "Monkees Memories and Media Madness" which never came to be. I had pre-ordered the book, and it took literally like 4 years to get, and it had by then become "Mutant Monkees Meet The Masters Of The Mulitmedia Manipulation Machine" - he signed it as well as Alan Green, his then manager. They both live about 20 minutes from here and I had the pleasure of meeting Alan at a Convention and he's a real doll. The first copy they sent me got lost in the mail, so Alan's inscription reads "Railyn: Sorry the first one went astray and thanks for being so patient". (Alan's British too)

-Davy Jones: autographed copy of his his first book "They Made A Monkee Out Of Me" - first edition. Alan signed it at the convention. When he found out we lived so close, and met in New Jersey, he signed it "Greetings Neighbor! See you at the mall!" (it's the only mall in like a 30 mile radius). I later found out a friend's daughter worked for Alan, and we "reaquainted" ourselves, and he had me give my book to our friend's daughter, and he took it on tour with the Monkees in the summer of 1987. My book did indeed go on tour (which is cool) but it came back much worse for wear. It was in several suitcases, got the front cover creased badly (almost torn off), and Davy dumped coffee all over the back, warping it badly. It's ruined, and he promised to get me another, and never did. But it's a cool story. And yes, he did sign it "My best to you" or something like that.

-Davy Jones: autographed t-shirt. Says "Davy Jones Signed My T-Shirt Right Here" and it has an arrow - he signed at the arrow.

**and he's probably my least favorite Monkee, but he lives near here and does a lot of appearances**

-Gemma Dolenz - sister of Micky - I wrote to him, and she was handling his mail. She wrote to me, but he didn't. I have no clue where the letter is.

-Priscilla Lopez: Tony award winning broadway actress - member of the original cast of A Chorus Line - famous for singing "What I Did For Love" - sent me a lovely picture.

-Priscilla Lopez and Thommie Walsh: Autographed copy of the book "On The Line" written by 2 members of the original cast of A Chorus Line (with input from all of them)- my favorite teacher went to the last show and took my copy and managed to get 2 signatures for mine - he got all of them for his. Thommie is one of the authors as well. I'd love to find Baayork Lee to get her signature as she is the other author.

-Walter Lord - author (A Night To Remember and The Night Lives On) and leading Titanic expert - wrote to him in 7th grade for library class (anyone else have that in school?) - the B*&&^ librarian kept all the stuff we got back, including a copy of an autographed book my best friend got. Makes me madder because he's now deceased. (watch any documentary on the Titanic - especially around the time when the movie came out - and you will see him - codgery old man with glasses and sloppy hair)

-Charlie Daniels - several pics. Two of them we received backstage before a concert (see below - sorry the pic is so bad) - both personalized - the other we got with the fan club pack.

-Brian Boitano - received in 1988, after the olympics. I did a needlepoint piece for him with olympic rings and ice skates, etc, and he sent me a nice note and an autographed picture.

-Tracy Wilson and Robert McCall - many time Canadian national ice dancing champions, and Olympic and world bronze medalists in 1988 - they sent me a nice picture and an invitation to see them at Hershey. I went. Robert died shortly after.

-Werid Al Yankovic - MY IDOL!!!! I met Al in 2000. Real sweetie, but the venue was strict. No posed pics, and no personal autographs. They claim it takes too long. Anyway, he signed my boxed cd set book and my husband's ticket stub from the previous nights concert. (see pic below, but not of autograph and my husband didn't do a good job w/the pic)

-Martina McBride - met her in 1992 when she was opening for Garth Brooks - I technically no longer have this pic made out to me and my husband, but I gave it to a friend who's a die-hard Martina fan, so I still count it because I know where it is.

-Chicago Knockers mud wrestling troupe - my first one and what got me hooked - that's the ONLY reason I mention it. I have absolutely no idea where the picture is.

-Mike Richter - recently retired New York Rangers goalie, and my favorite hockey player. Both plaqued picture and signed hockey card. Was on 1994 Stanley Cup Winning team.

-Mark Messier - captain, New York Rangers. Really nice picture which is plaqued. Picture is of him holding Stanley Cup in 1994.

-My husband has many many Dan Marino autographs.

-Mick Foley - professional wrestler. Friend got my husband his first book "Have A Nice Day" and got him to sign it for him.

-Don Schula - belongs to my husband.

-Bob Griese - belongs to my husband.

And last, but certainly not least (and the most recent one I've received).....Pat Mastroianni - award-winning Canadian actor, most famous for playing Joey Jeremiah on Degrassi Jr High, Degrassi High, and Degrassi The Next Generation. (and I know Vicki likes this one).....

I was running a search for something totally unrelated, and stumbled across this. Weird.

Anyway, I knew I'd forget one: The Ramones. Nice picture signed by all 4 - got it after their 20th Anniversary Tour (in a dumpy, seedy little nightclub that has since gone out of business about 10 miles from here - the place goes back to my mom's days, and it was just as bad then - but any Ramones fan will tell you there's no better place to see them....). Means more to me now than ever because Joey and Dee Dee are no longer with us.

But anyway, I did get a note back from the Osbournes e-mail stating they had my request and to give it 4-6 weeks, so hopefully......

I got Julie Andrews yesterday! After months of not getting postively anything, I finally did! It came with this little note, "Julie Andrews is presently on tour and is unable to autograph your article. Please accept a signed photo with her compliments." I sent her the slip out of my "Princess Diaries" DVD to sign. But, oh well. I like the photo & I finally got her autograph!! :D

Edit: Sorry it looks a little fuzzy, I'm new to resizing in PSP. :)

I think I got her in two months.

I have some pendings of nearly 3 years. :eek: ILCB is right, you usually hear back from celebs in between two weeks to six months. :)

well ill keep looking for her, but i got Dolly's from a friend, she went
to dollywood on the opening weekend, and she signed the photo for
me.
