Mr. Television 11-10-2003, 02:36 AM I wish they were reruned.:( SBTB Geek 11-10-2003, 04:20 AM It's unfortunate that we are missing out of so many great sitcoms fom that decade. What happened to "Mr. Belvedere," "ALF," "Facts of Life," "Out of This World," "Small Wonder," "Silver Spoons," or "Punky Brewster"? I swear... I haven't seen any of those, except "FOL" and "SS," in more than 10 years. jarri 11-10-2003, 01:16 PM I would like to see Small Wonder andSilver Spoons on TV again. I would watch (or at least set my VCR) for those shows everyday. dawsongirl 11-10-2003, 07:47 PM They are missing because they suck. No offense to fans. jarri 11-11-2003, 08:55 AM I'm offended. Those shows don't suck for those of us who are old enough to appreciate them. AKA 11-11-2003, 04:48 PM Originally posted by jarri I'm offended. Seriously, I defy you to watch an episode of "Small Wonder" in its entirety - you won't even get past the opening credits. dawsongirl 11-11-2003, 10:06 PM Originally posted by jarri I'm offended. Mr. Television 11-12-2003, 12:48 AM I would rather watch them than most of todays sitcoms.:) Chelsea 11-12-2003, 01:46 AM Out of all the shows mentioned in this thread, there are 2 that are still watchable to me now, all these years later. FOL and ALF. The rest, ugh... Montanya427 11-12-2003, 04:15 AM A few shows that I grew up on would probably be cheesy by todays standards but it would be funny to watch them again if just for the laughs. Theres to much reality TV on these days and no real comedy sitcoms ( a few but I remeber when I was a kid I couldnt make up my mind what channel or show I was going to watch and which ones I would tape) Like I really think the Brady Bunch is stupid and cheesy but I like to watch for the humor that I understand as an adult that I didnt get as a child (sexual tones haha) and I like to laugh at the cheesy lines and jokes and get a laugh at the clothes that I grew up making fun of (I watched it on TBS in the 80's) that are back in style now. (I swore I would never wear bellbottoms or platform shoes) Lady T 11-12-2003, 04:18 AM Personally I thought the sitcoms of the 80's were real cheesy...1980's television was at it's best with dramas...like Dynasty and Dallas Montanya427 11-12-2003, 04:41 AM Loved Dallas and Knots Landing Night time soaps from the 80's were great, campy writing but lots of fighting and back stabbing they were more manipulative and revengeful rather then todays or 90's dramas like Melrose where it was all about the bed hopping |
