I stayed home from work today because I have a horrible stomach flu with a bad head cold as an added bonus. It's times like these I wish I still lived with my mommy.

Things aren't getting better yet, so it looks like I'm going to have a sick weekend; at least a sick Saturday.

I don't get this sick very often. What's the best way to spend a sick day (while you're not sleeping, that is)?

Discuss.

Oh, poor you. Head colds are terrible. It's like having a lead balloon for a head.
Nyquil works well. Knocks you out too, lol. Have a friend bring some movies over tomorrow and some chicken soup. Progresso will work fine.
Drink lots of fluids...fruit juices, tea with honey.
I hope you shake this over the weekend. Call your mother. Although she can't be with you, it will be nice to hear her comforting voice.
There's always your friends here at Sitcoms to comfort you too.

:p Hehe, aww hope you guys get better. When I get sick, I take advantage of ordering my mother around (in a nice way!!) because if Im not sick and do it, she tells me to do it my damn self. Its nice to be catered and cared for for a week. When Im sick, I lounge on the couch all week only to get up to go the bathroom and sleep most of the time. I usually sleep during the day and am up at like 3am, so I watch old tv shows, but now when Im sick, I like to watch Bright Eyes.:D

Oh God, I know exactly how you feel :( I've got the flu. Been battling it since Thursday and spent all weekend shut up in my room under the blankets. Been doing nothing except sneezing and watching reruns. ohno: I appreciate any suggestions as well.

A little bit better. I'm in a NyQuil haze right now, though. I'm sure I'll be 100% just in time for my shift to start at work tomorrow.

Yeah, thanks!

So now instead of feeling sorry for me, shift to feeling sorry for Liza!

Both DayQuil and NyQuil rule! Something else that will help when you're just beginning to feel sick is Echinacea. Go for either the pill or the tea.

Glad you're feeling better AKA and Liza, I hope you get over that flu soon.

I know DayQuil/NyQuil work - it'd just be nice if it worked a little faster ;) Thanks though

Rest is very important; sleep is even better.
When I am that sick, which, luckily, is rare, I don't feel like watching TV, so I listen to the radio or read.
And I take about 4,000 mg of vitamin C daily along with zinc lozenges.

It's been a couple of years since I have been really sick, but usually when I am, I feel so bad(like shooting myself) that I just go to sleep... If I watch TV or something else, your just going to make yourself feel worse.

4,000 MG!? That's pretty hardcore. I take 1,000 along with a "One-A-Day."

And thanks for the kind words, everyone. I'm feeling much better now (I'm posting this from work). I do, however, have a very stuffy nose and, because of this, am prodoudcing my words like dis. Habing a stuffed-up dose really sugs.:D

TV helps take my mind of how bad I feel. And I usually worry about how I feel, so that always makes it worse.

Go to a doctor, get a shot, medicine, go home and get in bed, have some soup, watch tv or read, and go to sleep!!

I am SO sorry to hear that. We think my grandmother has it - it's a very hard thing to go through. He and your family are in my prayers :)
