Watching the Season 1 eps for the first time. Were the producers watching Cheers when they had the opening credits made. Seriously, except for the different subject matter, and classic GP-style credits text, the style of the open was virtually the same as Cheers' open.

You can see serious similarities. However, I liked all three original intros. I've always thought that FT, GP, and Cheers have the best intros. I thought Cheers was really cool though because the paintings actually looked like the actors in a way. I think this way is more creative than just showing photographs.

I thought the Family Ties intro looked more like photographs than paintings however. GP and Cheers looked more like paintings. Anyway, I liked the initial GP introduction and the initial Family Ties intro and the Cheers intro. I liked the opening song of FT during the first 10 episodes better than when they switched it, but that is just my personal opinion. And I never have gotten into that a-capella GP theme song version!

I wish FT and GP had stuck with their original openings like Cheers. The Cheers intro was always fun to watch!

I loved that they used real pictures of the actors when then they were younger. I thought that was unique. wasn't kirk Cameron just the cutest little kid ever!!! i always thought that when I watched the opening.

Yeah, that was an NBC thing. In fact, I think there were a couple of other shows that had the same style of opening.

But Growing Pains was on ABC not NBC so how can it be an NBC thing?:confused:
