Okay......is it just me, or is it sad when a 16 year old guy, who plays sports. refuses to wear deoderant and reeks wherever he goes. Is it just me, or is that incredibly gross and uncalled for?

Ugh, I don't play sports and I still wear deoderant.
Who is this kid? Give him a friendly reminder. When he's around, pinch your nose and LOUDLY mention that something smells like (gym socks, dead road kill, whatever you please) and look at him.

Hopefully, he'll get the subtle hint.

Just be glad you never knew him. He was banned once because everybody was complaining about him and TJ brought him back. Then one day last March, out of sheer boredness, he registered under an alias and attacked the board with porn messages. He has been permanently banned since.

It makes me so sick I cannot stand it. I'm the kind of person who like puts on tons of deoderant and smelly-good stuff because I'm paranoid of stinking......so this literally makes me want to puke. It's soooooo uncalled for too. My little brother is 9 years old, and has enough hygiene skills to put on deoderant and cologne. Why cant a 16 year old?!?!?!??!!?!? :mad:

My dad & stepmom work together - they own & operate a huge retail party supply store, and they have a LOT of stories up their sleeves about people who come into their store that reek of BO and whatever.

Here's a creepy story my dad told me just tonight -- their store also sells Halloween costumes, and every year they sell a few really expensive masks. This year, they had four of those really expensive masks, and three guys came into their store on....let me think, it was maybe Thursday of last week. All three guys seemed to be slightly drunk, and one of the guys asked my stepmom for the most expensive mask in the store, and my stepmom had one of the clerks help the guy get his mask...He paid $130 for that mask. :eek:

Okay, anyway...This was the 30th, the day before Halloween. Early Friday morning, all three guys had been murdered. One of the guys shot & killed the other two before turning the gun on him...It made the front page on Tuesday, and they just found out about it tonight. :eek: And to think, those three guys had been in the store only hours earlier! Creepy...

Maybe his parents have never spoken to him before. There are alot of kids out there who don't have the faintest idea what deoderant is. And it's sad. Someone has to sit down and tell him. It might be embarassing for him but he needs to know.

What a coincidence this topic is here. I just read an article that said deodorant loses some of its potency over time, much like shampoo does. It said you should switch brands every once in a while for maximum effect and go back to your favorite brand later.

This girl at my job smelled so incredibly bad I'd get literally queasy in my stomach when I had to take the register after her as the smell was so strong it would linger for a while even after she went home. Hard to believe but it's true. There were complaints about her all the time and I think it was an overall hygiene problem, not just lack of deoderant. For Christmas someone hung a stocking on her locker with bars of soap in it. She left the job some time later. I still feel bad I didn't try and talk to her about it in a nice way but I just couldn't find the words. It's not an easy thing to do.:confused:

I'm just waiting for a teacher at school to notice it and give a speech about it.....it's been done before. They even gave us all free deoderant.

There are some villages in Southern Germany that don't believe in deoderant. Back in high school, there was this girl who came from one of these villages, and she stunk, to put it bluntly. :lol: No one had the heart to tell her because she was a real sweetheart, but eventually my Speech teacher told her, but she said she had such a hard time with it because she didn't want to offend her.

I don't know what the relevance to this story is, but the topic made me think of it. Hey, as the old saying goes, life's too short to stay on topic.

Yeah, I can't stand people who don't wear deodorant after sweating so much. And I just can't take it. If someone is standing really close to me and they smell I start coughing really loudly and it's apparent that I can't stand the smell. I play (well technically its played because it's over) field hockey, and well this isn't a deodorant issue but on the bus home from our games, most bus drivers wouldn't let us wear our cleats on the bus and made us take them off before we got on, so I'd always have to sit around everyone with no shoes on. That's so unpleasant...ugh puke: think about it..running around all that time and being crowded together with no shoes on in a little bus. I'd always be the first to open the windows :p. Yeah sorry that was off topic..

Anyway, I have a phobia of smelling bad. That's why I keep lotion and body splash in my backpack at all times :stressed:. Seriously, I'd probably rather have a bad hair day than smell bad. I mean, who would want to be known as smelling bad (and then getting people like me disgusted ;)).

I hate it when people don't bathe/shower, brush their hair, floss & brush their teeth, used deoderant and mouth wash, and come clean cut!!

my brother is sloppy and he has to be told to wear deodorant but he doesnt care and neither do i. he doesnt stink... too much... his room smells weird though.

i dont need deodorant because im never active and when i am i refuse to do anything that requires alot of energy, so i dont sweat, but i keep a little thing of deodorant in my purse anyways.
