Prayers just said for your mom. I hope all goes well for her. With Mike & I both having diabetes, I can so relate. It is my fear that I can lose body parts like that. May God be with her at this time...

Just to let you know that my mom's surgery went well. it only took an hour and the surgeon, who also did her kidney transplant 5 years ago, said it went well.
Barring no complications she will not lose any more toes or her whole foot as was first feared!
She will be in the hospital until Monday and then moved to the nursing home off the hsopital here in town for a month.
Thank you dear dear friends for taking the time to remember my mom...my best friend

Joy, I wish your mother a speedy recovery--she will probably go through a bit of physical therapy for strengthening & balance and all that when the incisions heal... Being in the hospital after a surgery can really be a bummer... Tell her not to be shy about asking the nurses for pain medication when she needs it! And my prayers go out for her...

I have diabetic neuropathy too. In my feet & now kinda all over different parts of my body like arms & knees etc. It can cause you to not feel any pain which is dangerous as you can injure yourself & not know it. Fortunately I haven't lost any sensations or pain yet. I have shooting pains in my feet sometimes due to the neuropathy. More prayers just said for your mom & everyone elses needs on here too...
