I know that we've been harping about how "Wings" hasn't been released on DVD, and just about everything else HAS, but I had no idea how BAD the situation was until tonight....

I went into my local "Best Buy" store and went to the "TV Series" section of the DVD Department. I knew that shows like "Sanford and Son", "M*A*S*H", "All In The Family", "I Love Lucy", "Cheers", "Frasier", "Will and Grace" and others are on DVD, and that's fine....no problem...but I also saw the largest selection of pure CRAP on DVD that I have ever seen.....everything from Complete-Season box sets of "The Anna Nichole Show" to "Big Brother 3"!

Shelf after shelf of total TV GARBAGE in handsomely-packaged (and EXPENSIVE) box sets...Why do they even BOTHER to release stuff like that? Most of that stuff wasn't even worth watching the FIRST time, much less rehashing it on DVDs!

What gets me is that these companies have NO problem with releasing worthless series after worthless series, but they won't even CONSIDER releasing "Wings"!

I really wasn't that angry about this situation until I took some time, browsed through a large DVD section and actually SAW what is being sold out there!

I agree completely. I mean they are releasing "My Big Fat Greek Life." All 7 episodes! It's ridiculous. I read today that all 13 episodes of "Action" might be coming. Dinotopia, all 13 episodes are coming to DVD. It's insanity at it's most insane (if that makes sense).

Other DVD news that ticks me off: Green Acres is coming with it's complete FIRST SEASON. That's fine, I'll probably buy it. But the same company making that is making "The Best of Mister Ed". Now why can't they have the complete first season of Mister Ed? I love that show and would buy every episode if I could. Why is the same company releasing a complete season for one show and only a best of for another show. "Best of" is someone's opinion anyways. How can they call something the best of and expect everybody to love each episode included. I mean what if they sold "Best of Wings" on DVD and it was all season 7 and 8 episodes?

They base all this on "marketing research", and it's ridiculous...because they're obviously not doing it right. I read about this stuff all the time at work. People in that industry are so clueless sometimes.
