Does anyone else ever think of Cheers when they hear this song? I always do. I think it's a lovely song.

It's nine o'clock on a Saturday
And the regular crowd shuffles in.
There's an old man sitting next to me
Making love to his tonic and gin.
He says "Son, can you play me a memory?
I'm not really sure how it goes
But it's sad and it's sweet and I knew it complete
When I wore a younger mans clothes." ...

I love Piano Man. That is one of my favorite songs of all time. It does remind me of Cheers, because "Everybody Knows Your Name" the opening theme song is performed on piano.

To be honest, I never thought about it.

Not really because Cheers was a happy place and the song is saying that everyone there doesnt really want to be, if I remember it correctly.

Maybe it reminds me of the character who tried to come up with a Cheers jingle on the piano, Frasiers future dad.
