People are people, you can't argue with that. I live in a isolated part of the multiverse, and there are not people here to argue with, but where there are people, there are arguments. If people don't argue, they are not people.

I don't know why people argue over the internet, they don't even know the person they r arguing with. I't stupid, there is no point in getting all mad over the computer, people like that have problems....

Because it's good entertainment for us who aren't involved.

Yea, sometimes when I fight, I'm not even mad. I just keep going to see how far the other person will go with insults and such. It's hilarious.

Balderdash! If you indeed invented lubricant, you can't possibly live in an isolated part of the multiverse!

I agree with Marilyn Monroe over there! :D Fighting on the net is so fun! :mumble: I'll also go with Original Prankster: sometimes, I'll just argue to see how far people will go.

I think the main reason is the whole anonymousness of it all. I mean, think about it...would you EVER argue with somebody like you do online if you were talking to them face to face??? No way! At least I wouldn't! When you know that nobody else knows who you are, you can be as much of a mule as you want!

The thing about me is, I don't argue online because i don't know the people i'm arguing with, but in real life I love arguing, and i do not argue fair at all!

Hell, sometimes it's fun being involved!

But as to why....a) Humans just like to fight. b) It's easy to be tough and piss people off over the net cos it's not like they're gonna beat you up.

I've been in lots, internet fighting is amusing though... you get to say things you wouldn't really say to anyone in real life. :)

I meant I can say things over the internet that I wouldn't say in person, it's not like me to start fights in person and cuss at people... but online whenever I disagree with something I just say whatever I want.

They invented the internet for this sort of thing, people don't realize that its pointless and stupid and that they do have problems, either that or they do try to hide their problems by arguing over the internet. Simple as that.

Yep! This is the main reason.

Fighting can be set off easily because the internet is written, not spoken. The reader cannot hear the vocal inflection; cannot hear the laughter in the words of a joke; cannot hear the confusion of a simple question. The reader cannot see the body language, whether the writer is truly angry or being facetious; cannot see the facial expressions; cannot see the smile or the sneer.

As a result, misunderstandings often occur.

Yeah i'll seriously fight with ANYONE online (PM me if you hate me so we can fight about it haha) but im usually more intimidated by the people i fight with in real life unless i already know them and know i can kick their ass cause on the internet you have more time to think about what you wanna say and you dont get interrupted (god i hate when that happens) plus im more open online than offline.

People argue and pick each other apart on the internet because they forget that the people they are talking to HAVE FEELINGS. It's sad, but this will always be a problem...people take things too personally and want to force their opinion on others.

Because most people are afraid to stand up to someone face to face. The internet makes them brave. But is that a good thing? How can you belive anything they say, if their not being real!
