In one ep Klinger comes down with a fever and notices the soul of a deceased soldier coming right out of the lattr's body. The spirit of the soldier wanders around the camp watching them make a letter to infiorm hs family he died and everything. All the while feverish Klinger can talk to the soldier's. He's the only one who can see the spirit. There are shots of Klinger just lying in bed with a fever, not even awake throughout the ep. When his fever breaks he asks the 4077th doctors about the dead ghost private. The doctors act like they don't know what he's talking about. Those shots of Klinger asleep and sick with the fever throughout the ep. Was that a hint that Klinger actually just dreamed and the soldier, alive and a ghost, was all just Klinger's dream? In other words did the soldier never really exis in any way at all?

Things like that are generally left to the viewer to decide.

That's a really good question.

Luckily, Hallmark aired the episode in question, and after viewing it, I can honestly say I don't know.

My theory is since it was established that Kilinger was hallucinating in his bed in front of Hawkeye and the others, and the spirit of the soldier first appeared with Klinger present, I would say that he made up the dead soldier.

When Klingers fever broke, the spirit went away.
