I noticed that in the opening credits, the House that Roger comes out there is a car outside of it. If my memory serves me correctly, I don't recall Mrs. Thomas having a car. Someone let me know if i'm right.

You are correct, they didn't own a car and there is one in the driveway. The only thing I can't think of is that maybe their house was a duplex or there was a back house with a shared driveway.

Or the car was parked there by mafiosi who dumped a chopped up body in the trunk, or the car belongs to a Dominoes delivery man, or it's the car used by Jackie Coogan's stalker in that episode of "Love Boat".
