If you plan on reading this story I want to forget everything you've ever known about the background of the Happy Days chacters. Right now, Richie and Joanie were raised in a starfleet family, Richie befrended Potsie when Mrs. C breify was a doctor (she's in starfleet medical in this story) on the ship where Potsie's mother was a schoolteacher for the children of the officers. The two of them befrended Ralph Malph at Starfleet Accidmey where Ralph and Potsie studdied engenearing and Richie went into command school. While there, they met Fonzie who was an older command student and a resedent troublemaker who'd had to repeat a year of Starfleet Accadmey. Joanie started at Starfleet accidemey two years later and went into sucurity, and there in a pratice unarmed combat match she met Chachi. Oh yeah, and Joanie and Jenny were pen-pals when they were younger, and Joanie is Jenny's reason for being in Starfleet at all. As for Roger, KC, and Flip...well...when I said they were a starfleet family, I ment the entire family has gone into starfleet...
Anyway...just so you know they will all end up on the same starship, hence the story name..."U.S.S. Millwalkie"

Captian Arthur Fonzerilli.
It had a nice ring to it. Then agian, so had Commander Arthur Fonzerilli less then two years ago. Still, this time there was a sweet sence of victory in the title. He'd made it. He'd once been told he'd never even reach Lt. Commander.
It had been that day he'd set his sights on becoming the youngest captian in Starfleet. The current age for youngest captian was 33, set by Captian James T. Kirk over 150 years previously. Now, at age 29, Fonzie knew he'd broken that record and kept his vow. Still, with his ambation, he'd no doubt be dieing to hear the words Admeral Fonzerilli withen five years. Anything to be concidered equil to, if not better then, Admeral Kirk.
Fingering the extra pin on his uniform, Fonzie studdied himself in the mirror. He'd never been truly comfortable in his starfleet jackit, still prefering the old, comfortable leather of his youth. Of course, on occosions like this, he'd wear his uniform even in private.
Suddenly, a soft beep from his computer notified him of an incoming transmission. Hurring over, Fonzie gently knocked his index and middle knuckes aginst his desk, switching on the computer. On the screan flashed the immage of his long-time aquantance and sometimes friend, Lt. Commander Waren "Potsie" Webber. The younger man sat smiling, and said "Did you swtich on your computer by hitting your desk, Fonz?"
"Nah, this baby's too sensitive for that." At Potsie's look of disbeleaf, Fonzie admited "I just gave it a little tap."
Groaning, Potsie protested "You're an engenear's worst nightmare."
"Oh yeah? That's why you and Malph still keep in touch?" Fonzie half teased half challanged.
Long use to this behavior from his friend, Potsie brushed it off with a quick "No, we keep in contact with you 'cause you're the best First Offic...I mean, Best Captian in the fleet."
"Much as I appreachate the complement...ummm..." Fonzie began slowly, starting to draw out his words. Then, he finished "Don't say stuff about me I havn't proven yet, got it?"
"Fine." Potsie said, agreeable as always. "How dose finest officer sound to you?"
Nodding slightly, Fonzie agnolaged "sounds good."
"Well...I was kinda waiting for you to ask but...this is a buisness call."
Sitting up straight in his chair, Fonzie looked at the young Lt. Commander and said "I'm all ears."
"You're up for command of the Millwalkie."
After a breif pause, Fonzie whistled through his teeth and said "The Millwalkie? How'd..." before he could finish his sentance, Fonzie reconized the overly-innocent look on his friends face. "You had something to do with that, didn't you?"
Looking sheepish, Potsie admited "Well...yeah...I'm number one option for Cheif Engenear and I kinda told Admeral Kirk I'd be more then a little relcutent to serve under anyone but one recently promoted Captian Fonzerilli..."
"Thanks Webber. I...I..." Fonzie stammered slightly, reluctunt, as always, to admit his debt to another.
"You're welcome Fonz." Potsie responded. "What I really wanted to ask is...well...given any thought to who you're gonna recrut for first officer?"
Rolling his eyes, Fonzie said "Webber, you in engenearing, me in the command chair. Think we'd last ten minutes in space without Red playing go-between?"
"Ummm..." Potsie began, concidering. "Ten minutes? Problly. Ten Days? At High Warp? Problly not."
Suddenly, another beep came from the computer. Fonzie quickly said "Hey, I've got another call...I'll see you at Starbase Three in a couple days."
"Alright." Potsie responded. "See ya."
And with that, the transmission ended.
