 D'ya have a regular mailbox attached to your house or at the end of the driveway or do you have one of those steel mailbox boxes? I have the latter & it's just the next house down so it's not too far to walk, but brrrrrrr! The winds started picking up when I got to the mailbox and I had to fumble for the keys...brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Ours is at the curb in front of the house. Our driveway is behind our house on another street. But it's not a locked type mailbox.

You just don't find an early plate like this in EXCELLENT shape. ND started making them in like 1910 or 1911 so plates from the 1910's are VERY rare and worth a lot of money.

New Brunswick 1987-base passenger issue. Oops. Automation may be a great thing, but only if someone's paying attention to what's going on. Once the end of the "ASR" series of plates was run at Waldale, Ltd.'s Nova Scotia plate manufacturing facility, the series turned over to the obviously unusable "ASS" series and all 900 sets of plates in the series were made. These plates were obviously never issued and were sold for scrap, but as often happens some of them instead migrated to the collector's market. When I first saw one of these plates, the goofy 12-year-old kid part of me insisted that I had to have one.

We had one from about 1982 or so. But my parents were still new to parenting so taping TC was the last thing on their minds.

This is what our TV/VCR looked like in 1986. Gosh, I miss our old TV...

We got a VCR in early 1990 to replace that one we had. It was one of those top-loading VCR's. We STILL have that VCR.

http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/attachment.php?s=&postid=1252984 I went to DC the second week in April 2002, and I had to leave on the first Sunday (April 7th). Well, it was also the day we had to set our clocks one hour forward, so I only got TWO and a half hours of sleep (midnight til 3:30am). I lived in a crappy little town that had no major airport so I had to get up early to get to my school by 5 in the morning so we could drive to the nearest city with an airport, which was 1 1/2 hours away. We had to be there by 6:30 to check in & then board our plane by 8:30.

I was NOT a happy camper that day. :grr:

Rant I posted at another board (WARNING!!!!!!!! LONG!)

Oh God. Where do I start? Okay, I'll start with my bedroom. Oh, joy! Oh, joy! I'm so excited!

My dad & stepmom treat my bedroom like it's a guest bedroom. They toss things into my room when I'm not here, as if I didn't exist. Got a broken alarm clock? Open the door & toss it on Allison's bed. She won't care. Jacque (name of younger stepsis) wants to get rid of her clothes from when she was a little kid? (She's 17 now) Put it in Allison's closet. She doesn't care because she never uses it. Want a place to put away graduation pictures? Put it in Allison's drawer when she's not here, she won't care because she never uses the dresser anyway. Want to get rid of an useless old computer with no internet connection? Set it (AND the desk also!) up in Allison's room. She loves the computer anyway. Want to get rid of some pillows from the TWO guest bedrooms you have? No problem, put it on the floor at the foot of Allison's bed OR in her closet, THEN blame her for taking all the pillows. Oh, joy! All the things you could do to make her feel unwanted! OH JOY!!!!!!!! LET'S DO IT!!!!!!! Sounds like a bundle of fun!

Want to make Allison feel like even more of a slave? Leave your dirty dishes all over the house! Leave them in a messy stack on the living room table! Leave your half-full drunk coffee mugs on the end tables! And at night, when you have a beer from the can or bottle, finish it & leave it on the end tables, too! Too lazy to get up to throw away your Kleenex after blowing your nose? No problem, leave it out on the living room table, because Allison the Slave will come and clean up after you! She takes pleasure in cleaning up after you because you're too lazy to do it at all! Oh, woe! Allison the Slave feels so bad because you're too tired to walk the 10 feet out of the living room and out to the kitchen to toss away your tissues or the 15 feet to the garage to toss away your soda or beer cans! Allison the Slave feels sorry that you're too busy to walk 15 feet to the kitchen sink to dump out the coffee from your coffee mug, rinse it & put it in the sink! Allison the Slave feels sorry that when you DO remember to take your dirty dishes to the sink, you're too busy to rinse them off & put them in the dishwasher! OH, WOE!!!!!!!!! Allison the Slave is VERY saddened! Allison the Slave's heart is just breaking for you! Allison the Slave is sorry that you, Jacque, don't have the time to clean up your horrendously messy bedroom because you're too busy being a kid & hanging out with your friends and don't have the time to clean your bedroom! Therefore, she has to take YOUR things up to your room then almost trip over the THICK layer of clothes on the floor as she goes to put your things away and then turn off your closet light because you were too busy being a kid to think of the electric bill you're running up by leaving your closet light on 24/7. Allison the Slave saved the house from burning down - TWICE in the last month - by turning off your curling iron because you forgot to turn it off before you left to be a kid at school! Allison the Slave is so sad you're too busy to turn off all the lights before you leave for work! Oh, the woe! Too busy to walk a few feet to the light switch to turn off the lights! Allison the Slave is so sorry when you lose the remote after you're done watching TV and can't find it when you have TWO universal remotes handy, plus the VCR remote!

Want to make Allison the Slave feel even more special? Give her Jessy's (older stepsister's name) old, sagging daybed from when she was 5 in 1988 and give her ugly sheets that nobody else would be caught dead sleeping in, because Allison doesn't care about taste in bedsheets! And when Allison the Slave decides she wants to sleep in one of the two rarely-used guest bedrooms on the big, brand-new queen-size bed (which is good for her back, by the way), belittle her because she should be sleeping in her older stepsister's old, sagging, tiny daybed, where she belongs! Oh, joy! Let's make her feel bad, because she deserves it! I'm up for it, so let's do it!

Then, on the night that you guys ARE home, let's go and make something for dinner that you KNOW Allison the Slave hates, then when you come downstairs to the computer room where Allison the Slave is at, tell her she HAS to get off the computer and come upstairs to eat the meal that she hates. Oh, I've got an idea! Let's make bacon (which Allison the Slave HATES with a passion because she thinks pork smells AND tastes like total and utter crap) for BLTs and suffocate her in the smell of sizzling fat for the rest of the night, because Allison the Slave appreciates your generous thoughts on supper!

When Allison the Slave wants to rent movies she KNOWS she wants, go get the movies for her THEN interrograte her with questions of her tastes in movies because she likes different things than you do! If she wants to mail something to somebody you've never heard of, interrograte her with questions! Ask her what's in the envelope and why you should mail it for her! Allison the Slave doesn't have a driver's license and no car because she was born with a visual disability! Ask her why she always stays at home all the time (for the reason Allison mentioned above!) and make her feel bad! If you come home to take a little break from work and see Allison the Slave taking a nap, wake her up from her peaceful nap and then blame her for being so tired because she stayed up really late BUT got plenty of sleep! (Seven hours of sleep is the norm Allison the Slave gets to feel great and energized!) Let's run up the electric bill big-time by leaving ALL the lights on when you're not home, then blame Allison the Slave when you get home for not turning off all the lights! OH JOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, joy! Let's make her feel bad! Oh, woe! I'm too busy to do ANYTHING and then when I get the day off (and when I'm not hanging out with my 346234652465347 friends), be VERY lazy and do nothing so Allison the Slave can clean up after you!

:grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr:

(BTW, Allison the Slave was using HEAVY sacrasm in her post)

And when Allison the Slave decides she wants to sleep in one of the two rarely-used guest bedrooms on the big, brand-new queen-size bed (which is good for her back, by the way), belittle her because she should be sleeping in her older stepsister's old, sagging, tiny daybed, where she belongs! Oh, joy! Let's make her feel bad, because she deserves it! I'm up for it, so let's do it!

My dad picks on me for sleeping on the couch instead of my bed all the time. Screw that...I'll sleep wherever the hell I want. It's still sleep!

And who are they waiting for, the Queen to come spend the night?

EXACTLY.

I will tell you this - this is true - half the time, my mom sleeps on the couch and the other half the time, she sleeps in her bed just because she feels like it. I don't care where she sleeps, just as long as she feels good when she gets up in the morning. Hell, I do it myself sometimes (although I rarely sleep on the couch because I prefer my nice, big queen bed :biglove: ), and my mom doesn't care, just as long as I feel good in the AM too. :)

It's not so bad down here in the basement (I live in one of those weird half-floor houses that were so popular in the 80's, so I'm writing this on a computer that's located in Basement #2), because it's ACTUALLY furnished. In my house, we have Floor 1, Floor 1½ (half-flight of stairs), then Basement 1 (upstairs) and Basement 2. It's kinda confusing but not that hard to figure out when you're over here.

Seen those. Four-level split. Well, do you have an upstairs from the main floor? If not, then just a 3-level split.

Yep, 4 level split. Whose drugged-up idea was it to invent split-level houses? Oh well, it's better than the last house we lived in, anyway. Three full levels, a basement, the main floor & a full upstairs. There were two flights of stairs that were like 30 steps long each. :grr:
