The episode of Diffrent Strokes entitled "The Girls School" which served as the Facts of Life pilot. Why aren't they showing it? That's crazy! gcb Burr 04-01-2001, 03:21 AM These particular episodes of FOL that attract fan interest will not be shown. The programmers are holding these episodes in reserve until the time comes when a special ratings boost is really needed, probably as a counter-programming move against the competition. In the meanwhile, they have created "fan buzz" and as long as fans of the show are desperate for more, Nick has got them hooked. The only solution for fans is the appearance of the upcoming Columbia House videos. The networks do not exist for your entertainment. They will only please you to the extent it makes the optimum profit for the stockholders. And that is a fact of life. coily2 04-01-2001, 09:58 AM Originally posted by Burr: These particular episodes of FOL that attract fan interest will not be shown. Nick at Nite is an ad broker, not a company concerned with your entertainment. If they could seel ad space to Coke by airing test patterns all night, I promise you, they would do it. I think that this schedule is very temporary. There are alot of shows on this schedule that are repeated on TVLand. This will begin to hurt the ratings of the second network and they will shuffle some more. The sad truth is, we are at their mercy. I wouldn't worry about the show getting canceled - they have exclusive rights on the show for at least another 17 months. Keep sending your emails and hopefully things will get better. |
