Hey guys, are there any documentaries or something like that about Lucy/Desi/Viv/Bill/You Get the Point coming up on TV soon? :D

Some of Lucille Ball's movies are coming up in the next couple months, but no documentaries that I'm aware of.

Bravo had DESILU couple months ago and the Lucy movie is history. I want to catch the 'Mysteries and Scandals" that they talk about Desi . I often put on a tape of Finding Lucy or A Home Movie to get depressed but I love them

I like the beginning of Finding Lucy where they're signing autographs. Does anyone happen to know where that is? (where they are, I mean)

I dunno; I just get very sad by the end of it when DESI gives Lucy that sweet look and she winks at the people.. it puts me very melancholic; it's not that Im a masoquist and love to be depressed

So you probably think the part in the pool is sad too, don't you?

The part in the pool was the BEST ever, so unexpected and private and human and warm. I never thought i'd get to see something like that, where were their respective spouses?

The part on the pool puts me tears; seeing them together for one of the last few times . Both aged and having fun together again like when they first met

Who cares where the 'respectives' spouses were. L and D were living the best of being together again especially with their first grandson.

The pool scene is at the end of Home Movies. Hey Splain, I never thought about where the spouses were, or even who was filming it for that matter. I kind of thought Lucie filmed it for some reason.

We are talking about both docs at once here. In Finding Lucy is where they are signing the autographs and you wondered where they were. GOOD QUESTION. Have you noticed the look they gave to each other there? So nostalgic:(

All I know is that LUCY sent DESI a wreath in the shape of a horseshoe when he married EDITH with the msg of' You both picked a winner' and ALL the times that Lucy called DESI a "looser". Temporary amnesia from her right there:lol:

Hmm I haven't seen Finding Lucy! It sounds good! What does it have on it?

It's a great documentary with lots of interviews from people such as Carol Burnett and Fran Drencher (sp?). I kind of forgot what exactly is on it though, I'm always getting the many Lucy documentaries mixed up, but it's very good. :)

HER calling DESI a 'looser" i the way she meant it ' was completly uncalled for; just because he failed in the bussiness thing and all the rest doesn't mean that it was appropiate.She also had failed on some other things and never got over losing him.I think she said it out of resentment towards him more than anything. On that interview she's flowing with a lot of anger and a bad vibe towards him even though she loved him for the rest of their days. No matter how bad his behavior was he was the 'greatest producer to her' since there were two ARNAZEs at home to prove it.

I don't think that she meant it like that. She basically was saying that whatever Desi built up, he had to tear down. Kind of like he made it so that he could never win (and thus being a "loser"), but at that point she was still friends with him, they talked on the phone almost every week. She did still have some resentment towards him, but that was all behind them. I don't really think that "loser" had the same meaning in 1977 as it does today. That's only my interpretation of it though.

I see that the interpretation is different. Looks like she started talking with him again when she got over it all and her resentment weaned down. Life is too short to life like that; I bet that both were really hurt because of it all and used the last years to 'try' and 'mend' what was once the greatest love story that there was

How many times are we going to have to explain that remark. Lucy said in the Barbara Walters interview that everything Desi built up he felt he had to tear down and she was quoting HIM! He said that about himself, he had that destructive thing about him, maybe because he had LOST everything as a 16 year old when the revolution came and he wound up going to America and cleaning bird cages. So that's what was nmeant by calling himn a loser, he LOST everything he built up. Like having millions and buying a studio and then almost losing the whole thing, until she saved it to recoup her money. She praised him while they were together and after they divorced, sought HIS advice for the rest of her life, she wouldn't talk a few times every week to a man she considered a LOSER.

Well, i understand as i was taken aback the first time i heard it also. Today, we hear the word LOSER and it does not have the same meaning as the way she intended when she uttered those words. Loser as in losing something not a person who is a loser. Why on earth would she say that about a man who guided her career and built an empire in television. SHE NEVER SAID THAT!

:rolleyes:I clearly understand the context that she used the word 'loser 'and I don't think that was the correct word to use; in the context she meant it.She could've find a different word; just my opinion

Ok i give up! No, let's try it again. Let's try it one last time, i lost ten dollars this morning, so Lucy says i'm a loser, because i'm always building up a bank account and then losing the money, that's the way i am, the minute i get some money together i buy some garbage i don't need, i'm a real loser when it comes to keeping money, i l o s e it, Lucy isn't saying that i'm a loser, she's saying that i have this habit of building up some amount of money and then L O S I N G it. I also say this about myself, i'm very bad with money, so i don't mind that Lucy says that because it's the truth, i accept it. Now, if she called me a loser like some idiot who keeps doing stupid things, will never get anywhere or accomplish anything, you know, that kind of loser, that would be a different story.

Okay, THAT was a little odd. Took me about half way through to figure out you were trying to explain the LOSER thing. I get it.:)

Naaaaaaaa. I understood exactly what Lucy was saying, but the plain truth was that she CAME OFF very rude and inconsiderate, and it seemed like her and Gary were making fun of him(Desi). I know what the difference is with the word loser now as opposed to then, but the way she CAME OFF is timeless, and inexcusable. I still love Lucy, but she made a mistake, that's all, and everyone who's human is allowed a mistake.

I wish I had the chance to tell Desi how much he was loved and appreciated. I hope he knew that. It bothers me all the time.
