how long does it take for them to write, and film and do everything for one episode?
because Its been just over a month since ABC decided to continue 8 simple rules without John right? and I was thinking that 1 month seems really short to write a one hor epsidoe and tottally change it and film it and everything. don't you think?

Things work very fast in Hollywood when it has to. They had to get the episodes ready for the November sweeps; one of the most important times of the year when advertising rates are set. They are hoping for and probably will get huge ratings for these shows.

The "Goodbye" 2 parter that will air Tuesday(November 4th) was filmed October 24th... give it another 10 days for writing, editing, and other stuff, probably about 3 weeks.
The older sitcoms(ones now in syndication) used to be filmed more like a month before they aired(more technology now)
In regards to this also...is this show filmed or video taped?
Hello? Pav? Anyone?

It's taped in front of a live studio audience. Not filmed. Except these last few weeks there have been no studio audience, and everyone knows why.
Are any TV shows filmed anymore, or is the medium basically still tape?
