New Roundup of DiC Cartoons
10/26/2003
We just wanted to fill you in on some recent releases from DiC Entertainment. As fans of their cartoons know, we've been working lately to bring you more information about their DVDs. It's tough to find them, since no one retailer has committed to carrying the entire line-up yet. We can recommend that you keep an eye out at Wal-Mart locations, including in their $5.88 bargain bins. If that fails, check our release listings here at TVShowsOnDVD...if we find an online seller for these, we'll link to them. The most reliable so far is Amazon (who is one of our partners, and purchasing through our links to them will help support this site).
Back to the recent releases, we have cover art to show you for new DVDs from C.O.P.S., Starcom, Action Man, and a holiday-themed one from Sonic The Hedgehog. DiC is working on sending over details about each of these, so we can get release listings up here with specs, price, and episode lists. All should be available immediately (if you can track them down):
Like I said, we haven't gotten all the info yet for these, but over at the Animated Bliss website they've gotten some word about C.O.P.S. - Fighting Crime In A Future Time at least:
Empire City is under siege by the sinister Big Boss and his gang of dangerous criminals. The city's only hope is the Central Organization of Police Specialists (C.O.P.S), a team made up of extraordinary crime-fighters - each one a master of a special skill, who are dedicated to stamping out organized crime.
"The Case of the C.O.P.S. File #1, Part 1"
Agent Vess comes to Empire City following a series of crimes and is severely injured by the Big Boss and his Henchmen.
"The Case of the C.O.P.S. File #1, Part 2"
C.O.P.S must unite to fight Big Boss and his ultimate crime machine.
"The Case of the Bogus Justice Machines"
As C.O.P.S. are disbanded due to the success of new justice machines in fighting crime, the Big Boss conceives a new fiendish plan...
In addition to that, DiC is planning on more releases of old cartoons in the first part of 2004. Some of the ideas they are kicking around include more Care Bears, along with Heathcliff, The Littles, and even Sylvanian Families. Stay tuned, and we'll have more details for you just as soon as DiC finalizes their plans and passes them on to us.
I sure hope they go ahead with The Littles and Heathcliff. I don't care how old I am, I would definitely by them. My nephews could watch them whenever they come out here. They don't have the privilege of growing up with creative cartoons. My goodness, if this keeps up, I may have to file bankrupcy by the end of 2004, lol. I hope these releases end up being some decent box sets instead of one measly disc with just 2 or 3 episodes.
