Hey everyone!
I e-mailed Anneliese van der Pol from her fan page a month
or two ago. She e-mailed me back about two days ago, and
here's what she had to say in response to some of my
pathetic questions (which I shortened here, but her full
answers are here):
DANIELLE (me:) Your character is so much fun to watch. Do
you like playing Chelsea?
ANNELIESE: I like Chelsea. I respect her stand on important
things like the environment, like animal rights, like
friendship. And her quirkiness is fun to interpret and
I've always thought that despite the fact that she
doesn't always get the basics that Chelsea is a smart
girl. She is admirable.
D: I heard you have a demo coming out. Is it true?
A: I have been working on a demo but everything in the
music industry seems to move very slowly and it's hard to
find the time to record (after having found a song, learned
it, rehearsed it) when your working all week on the set of
a
tv show. We have a hiatus coming up and I hope I can come
further with my recording project then.
D: I was wondering if you and Raven get along. After all of
the gossip with Lalaine and Hilary Duff, it's hard to tell
anymore.
A: Raven and I are close friends. We hang out. Go to malls
together, get manicures together, movies, sleepovers etc.
Raven is cool. She is smart and fun and not at all full of
herself. She's like a sister and I think I'm really
lucky
to have my first tv job working with people like Raven and
Ordland and Kyle too who are also nice and by now like
family.
D: What's your favorite episode of That's So Raven?
A: My favorite episode from the first season was the one
where I ran for class president because I got to be very
dramatic in it. I also have a sentimental liking for the
episode where Raven and I are swinging on some scaffolding
because it was one of the first ones I did and the one in
which Raven and I really bonded because we had to spend so
much time together on the scaffolding. It was techinically
a difficult scene to shoot and it took forever to do.
D: Do you have any siblings?
A: I have two older sisters.
D: Thank you very much for reading/responding my e-mail!
A: Thanks for being a fan and for watching the show. I hope
your fine and thanks for writing.
She seems pretty sweet.
