Has anyone besides me heard of this highly talented smooth jazz singer? She's sung songs such as Piano In The Dark, If Only For One Night, Le Resturant and In The Thick Of It.

I think she's just amazing, it's tragic she's so little known, she's easily one of the most talented female artists ever to hit the music scene. If you don't own the album "So Good, So Right: The Best of Brenda Russell", go and get it! It has all her best songs, and is well worth it. :)

I don't know too much about Brenda, but I love the song "Dinner With Gershwin" that she wrote and gave to Donna Summer.

She also wrote and sang "Get Here" which was a hit for Oleta Adams and run into the ground by Justin Guarini. It was the title song from the album that spawned "Piano in the Dark". Great album.

I had no idea (or maybe I forgot) that she wrote "Dinner with Gershwin". That song was sooooo phenomenal!! Buffy Slayer, you know a lot about music!

My father has her self titled album that came out in 78 with the hits So Good So Right & If Only For One Night on it. She also has a song on that album called Way Back When that i like. Luther Vandross remade her If Only For One Night song & he did a very good job.
