Was there a specific atribute that made go wacko?

Yeah - all that sentimentality finally got to his brain!

If he was heading anywhere, it was back to the States. A quick visit to his father and sister, and then off to meet Trapper. :)

Hawkeye no longer had a sister by year 4 of the show.

Then he could get to Trapper's place even quicker. :)

What happened to her? Did they forget about her and make him an only child, 'cause I don't remember her being killed off. It's been a long time since I've seen those episodes though!

HE WENT BACK TO THE MENTAL INSTITUTION.

In real life Alan Alda was an only child for most of his growing years (his half-brother is a lot younger). When Alda took over almost all aspects of MASH after season 3 he dropped hs character's sister angle.

What does Hawkeye's sister have to do with the main point?

And if anyone doesn't know the main point. The main point is where was Hawkeye headed when we last saw him in the end of the last episode?

Wasn't he headed back to the mental institution because of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, or what they called back then, Battle Fatigue?

YES, YES, I think so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They, on this board, commented on Hawk's siser, presuming she was still part of the show (in reference) by the last season. In fact she wasn't.

Largely, apparently, because Hawkeye was no longer the Hawkeye I used to know and love! Thank goodness for the first three seasons on DVD!

But I thought your other thread, questions about the last episode, answered your query, Screenwriter? You kicked off a different line of conversation here, is all.
