I had a teacher that once told me that the most painful thing that you can ever do to your body is to dislocate your hip. Ouch!

What a coincidence that this poll is here. My best friend that I am staying with had two horrendous infected, impacted wisdom teeth pulled a few hours ago, and she is miserable. Said it was the worst pain she's ever had, and she's had some heavy duty abdomen surgeries. That says a lot. I would have never believed wisdom teeth could be so bad, and hearing crazy411chic also proves how bad it is.

MonarC, I'm in the same boat you are--I have one wisdom tooth that will have to be out soon and today's the first day I am scareeed. So far the tooth isn't a problem and I hope the removal won't be either. My worst pain ever was when I had bladder surgery. Or maybe it was when I near 3rd degree burned my hands. I can't remember. Both were a nightmare.

Out of that, it's a migraine. Oh God, I have the worst headaches, and being an insomniac sure doesn't help it.

HEADACHES. I get them a lot. Esp. the ones where you wake up int he morning and have one already (No, not hangovers. I'm not legal yet. :p). :(

I have to have my wisdom teeth taken out soon, and they say you should be passed out for it and only feel pain after it's over. Maybe that's because I'm going to an oral surgeon. I don't know.

i dont get why everyone makes such a big deal with getting wisdom teeth out. i didnt get knocked out for mine and i had all 4 that were impacted taken out at once. they hurt more in my mouth than when i got them out.

Wisdom teeth: Some people say it's the worst thing ever and some people say it doesn't bother them at all. It all depends on how pain-tolerant you are. Mine are still in, and I get into a little pain everytime the dentist works on my teeth(or when I had braces) the orthodontist. I used to hate going there!!! It, from what I have heard, just depends on how pain tolerant you are.

I have a mouth ulcer below my lower lip that is killing me right now. :(

the drugs they prescribe afterwards is well worth it.

Really hard to choose the worst.

I've had toothaches and backaches, but from what I have read and observed I would probably choose migraines.

Let's hear it for Vicodin. Yay! But it sucks when they don't give enough. My friend probably didn't, so hopefully she either gets better fast or the doctor won't be a prick and give more. Most docs are just too conservative with pills.

Cramps are pretty awful - you can't even move, oh forget that, you can't even BREATHE.

Actually though, I think earaches are the worst. When I get them I just want to die. That's it. No sitting still, no holding my breath, I want to die.

migraines. i get really bad ones and it's really painful. it affects my schoolwork too.

two years ago, during a soccer game, this girl missed the ball and kicked my knee, really hard, and then while i was going down, i twisted it and my ankle. then, i went and sat down indian style, which wasn't the smartest thing to do. i was in so much pain and i had a limp for two months.

Mine never bothered me when they were in my mouth. But the day I got them taken out was BAD. The pain was beyond horrible the first day. The pills that they prescribed did NOTHING for me. But after that first day, the pills worked and everything was fine. I've never had pain worse than that.

I got lucky I suppose. I didn't have any pain at all from having my wisdom teeth removed. My doc did a heck of a job with numbing - I couldn't feel anything in my mouth for days (which made keeping food in my mouth an interesting trick). My mouth was really puffy and swollen, but I wasn't in any pain.

I thought the worst part was getting stuck eating no solid foods. The pain wasn't that bad. I popped 4 Advil's and I was fine.

I got put out and I didn't even realize that's what they were doing. I just went to sleep and woke up after it was over. I was, however, completely disoriented.

it all depends, some peoples are a lot worse than others, my two top ones were easy, almost no pain at all.
The bottom ones were badly impacted, i had to come back three times to get them done - they had to slice open the gums and yank those suckers out piece-by-piece, i believe with one tooth they gave me 27 shots of the freezing over a couple of hours, (thats probably why I can't have it at all now) and I could still feel the guy diggin around in there....

Eww, that happened to me when I was 9. I always had ear problems before, and then one night my left drum just burst. Definitely in the top 3 for worst pains I've ever had.

Tooth ache, easily. Recently I was up all night screaming and crying with the tooth ache from hell. I have this one tooth that keeps hurting and my dentist appointment isn't until Febuary 5th...I've not looked after my teeth as well as I should and I dread to think of how much work probably needs doing. :(

Well, I've broken bomes all over my body, I've had twisted ankles and sprains, I've had teeth pulled and I've had my kneecap kicked out of place and my cartlidge torn behind my knee.

I'd have to say the worst pain was when I broke AND dislocated my ankle. I had a bi-malleolar ankle fracture with fracture of the medial and lateral maleolus and posterior and lateral dislocation of the ankle.

Let me tell ya, that hurt like a son of a b$tch. They had me on morphine and valium so they could pop it back in place then they scheduled me for surgery the next day (I got to that hospital close to midnight)

Does emotional pain count? If so, grief is one of the worst emotions a person can endure. It invades your life, your every thought.

Sleep is no refuge because of nightmares, or worse -- having a pleasant dream of your lost loved one, only to wake up and realize it was only a dream.

Having your heart broken by someone you love romantically is emotionally painful as well.
