View Full Version : Is Joey gay?
GeorgeJefferson 10-24-2003, 05:23 PM Yes, I know there are episodes that feature him with a girlfriend or a date. But come on, he's in no way related to anybody in the household ever. There's never any sign of him looking for a wife or family. He's just raising girls with two other guys, one who is a neat-freak that he has known his whole life.
I think the series didn't have the guts to feature a gay character back then and made minor implications in the dialogue that Joey was a misguided soul and would eventually realize his true sexuality and why he had spent all these years living with men and teaching girls about life. Look at the similiarities between his wit, and that of Jack on Will & Grace. I think his wit is a distraction from the true nature.
What do you think?
Vegas Girl 10-24-2003, 06:05 PM The thought of Joey being gay never occurred to me, but something else did.
Why would Danny pick Joey (who is not a relative and who had no kids of his own) to help raise his three daughters? How did he know he wasn't a child molester? I'm not implying that he was. But Danny even went out of town overnight in the second season and Jesse had a job so it was Joey with the girls most of the time. How did he know for sure that he could trust him? I wouldn't leave my little girls with a man.
David 10-24-2003, 07:22 PM All i have to say is that....
I really hated it when Joey acts like a cartoon character.. Its just.. "errr"
David 10-24-2003, 07:26 PM oh lol! i forgot to answer the question.
I dont think he's gay. I have to say this: just because a person acts gay, doesnt mean he is. My friend acts like a girl mainly due to the fact that he grew up with girls (his sisters). That doenst mean he's gay, and hes not

He probably knew Joey more and longer than he did Jesse. How did he know Jesse wasn't gonna try to feed them booze or something? After all, Jesse was the wild one.
dawsongirl 10-24-2003, 09:59 PM And no, I don't think Joey is gay. Seriously, what is with society today??? A single character on TV is automaticaly labeled as gay. To some people, everyone is gay. That is so annoying. And who the hell cares if he is or not???

Lady T 10-24-2003, 10:12 PM Joey gay? not at all...
GeorgeJefferson 10-24-2003, 10:15 PM Hey, this is just an opinion poll. You folks don't have to get so touchy about this. This has nothing to do with the actor, but merely the character of Joey. Watch "Full House" and see what you think.
Vegas Girl 10-25-2003, 03:16 PM He should trust Jesse more because those were his nieces, and I don't think he'd want to hurt his deceased sister's children.

Yeah, he and Danny knew each other when they were in grade school. :)
Crimson and Clover 10-30-2003, 03:40 AM no
dandelion wine 10-30-2003, 04:06 AM Nope
Lucylover22 10-30-2003, 02:05 PM Why do people always assume a character is gay? Like on the Lm boards, there is a thread "Is Miranda Gay?" Why waste your time with threads like these?
King Creole 10-30-2003, 10:28 PM Very good, if irrelevant question.
I think it could go either way. I don't think he is, personally. He really seems to like it when the ladies show him attention.
In Peace,
King Creole
GeorgeJefferson 11-04-2003, 02:53 AM You would think by the end of the show, the writers would have had Joey end up married or in some sort of serious relationship. I mean, how long is he going to stay with the Tanners? It's not like they need his help anymore with the girls growing up and Jesse and Becky living in the house. I think he just became too attached to Danny and is afraid of leaving him.
hawaii five-o 11-06-2003, 08:18 PM Danny seems gayer than Joey.
Vegas Girl 11-07-2003, 02:20 PM Yes. What man loves to clean as much as Danny?
His clothes were uncool.
He did seem kind of gay.
GeorgeJefferson 11-07-2003, 07:11 PM If you think Danny was gay, what do you think Joey's purpose for living with them for all those years was?
dawsongirl 11-08-2003, 06:06 AM Originally posted by Vegas Girl

Felix Unger
Zack Tripper 11-18-2003, 03:49 PM I don't think he's gay, although I kinda think that Danny may be. Of course, I think that Bob Saget may be gay in real life.

A bit off topic:
Even though he did clean and his clothes were dull, that doesnt mean that he was gay. It shouldnt even make u think that he was. Gay has to do with sexual preference. How you dress and what your hobbies are has nothing to do with your sexual preference. A guy can play with dolls and not be gay.
And even if he was, I said this before but I'll say it again, why does everyone think having a different sexual preference is a bad thing! It doesnt ruin the world!
james_baby87 11-19-2003, 07:25 PM I really dont think so.
GeorgeJefferson 11-19-2003, 08:31 PM I think he's gay because he spent so much time with Jesse and never got married himself. He also spent a lot of time listening to Clay Aiken, who is the biggest closet case.

maybe cuz they were best friends.... usually best friends spend time together. Plus, Joey had girlfriends.
Also, your Clay comment was funny. but, Clay isnt gay.
GeorgeJefferson 11-20-2003, 04:50 PM Best friends don't necessarily live in the same house for eight years together when they're in their 40's. After Becky moved in and became a mother-figure who could help look after the girls, why did Joey have to stay? He's not related to them and he was making money from his "Ranger Joe" show and "Rush Hour Renegades" radio show. Sure, he had girlfriends, but never anything serious. If he loved kids so much, why wouldn't he want to settle down and get married? Oh yeah, because he's gay!!!
And just because Clay Aiken says he's not gay, does not mean anything. Young girls who adore him are just in denial of the truth.

2. Nope, its the haters that insist that he's gay.
3. Just because he acts kinda gay-ish doesnt mean hes gay.
GeorgeJefferson 11-22-2003, 04:12 PM Whoa. Ok. You obviously know much more than I about Clay Aiken. I assume you're talking about him, because who would care that much to defend the sexual orientation of a fictional character like Joey?

Last time I checked, Clay wasn't real well known in the early 90s. :p

Maybe he didn't want to move out and pay rent. Seemed like he was living there for free. Sweet gig if you can get it.

Lemme put it this way...had the married Joey off and he had kids, he'd be too much like Jesse. They most certainly didn't want two characters on the same show who are in the exact same situation.

It doesn't mean he is gay either! God...who the hell even cares?? No one (when it comes to Clay anyway) who hates him can say why except for that they think he's gay. Not, "I don't like his music" or "I hate his voice." Nope, HE'S GAY!

*scratches head* You seem to care that much about insisting this fictional character of Joey Gladstone is gay.
swedeace 11-26-2003, 01:35 PM The way I look at the premise of this show's debut since 1987 was much like the movie "Three Men and a Baby." I didn't think about Joey in that manner. My vote is "no.";)
GeorgeJefferson 11-26-2003, 04:44 PM HAHAHAHAHAHA...oh my god.
Dawsongirl, you need to get a life.
This whole forum/poll is somewhat of a joke in itself. Of course, Clay Aiken wasn't around in the 90's. Did you think I was serious?
It seems that you have it in for me since you basically critiqued all my posts? I simply put up a poll to see what other people think about this humorous observation that one fictional character from an old B-TV show mighty be gay. But, god, I guess some have to take everything so seriously. If this forum/poll bothers you, go to another one. Get the hell out of here. Nobody needs this abuse.

GeorgeJefferson 11-27-2003, 03:54 PM Yeah, you critiqued every one of my posts. I seemed to be the only one you chose to do this to. I'm sorry if you feel so passionately about Joey and Clay Aiken, but, for godsake, be open to others' opinions.

GeorgeJefferson 11-28-2003, 04:08 AM Oh, just get over it and move on.
~Teddybear~ 11-29-2003, 02:01 PM Can't we all just be friends?????
Anyway, no, i do not think that Joey is gay. Maybe he doesn't want to have a wife and kids. He just loves being with the family and got attatched.

Oh, just get over it and move on. Why don't you get over it? Anyone that starts something like this, and you obviously did start it, from looking back at this post, needs to get a life themselves. You started this to get attention, and the Clay Aiken comment was made because you obviously saw that David liked Clay, and NO, you didn't know that Clay wasn't around, because otherwise you would not have made such an insanely stupid comment.
And to answer your question, No, Joey was not gay, or otherwise he would not have went out with different women through-out the course of Full House.

Oh, you're just soar because I spoke ill of the great American Idol. And the reason I told that other poster to "get a life" is because she practically disected every post I made, in an attempt to prove me wrong when this whole forum is just asking for one simple opinion. I don't want to have to tell you to get a life too, but if you continue to aim your posts directly at me, because of my previous comments - which are all only opinions - I will. :)

If I really am not worth your "time of day", you need not respond to my post. But, I have a feeling you will when I say that the lowest form of debate or argument on this site is to critique one for grammatical errors. Oooh, I made a typo. I must be a fool.
Oh yeah, American Idol is mundane, overrated, and just plain out stupid. No offense.
