Ruthless People is my favorite Bette Midler movie. I love that movie & it had a great cast too such as Judge Reinhold, Helen Slater, Danny Devito, Art Evans, Bill Pullman. I also like Outrageous Fortune, Down & Out In Beverly Hills, Beaches.

Hocus Pocus :) loved it when I was little - she and Sarah Jessica Parker and a very young Thora Birch. Love Big Business and That Old Feeling too though ;)

Drowning Mona is my least favorite - icky, icky movie.

lol, I can see why it would be. I don't think it's that great at all, but I think she is so hilarious as Mona though... :)

Ruthless People is my favourite- it's hilarious when they phone sam with the burgers on the frying pan.

Followed by Down and Out in Beverly Hills, Hocus Pocus and the First Wives Club

I also thought Beaches was great- but I can't remember Outrageous Fortune that well.

Does anyone know if there'll be a Bette Midler boxset- they should have a comedy set and a drama set of dvd's- it'd be great. Bette Midler's definitely a funny lady- and I'll definitely go see her in The Stepford Wives.

Yeah Ruthless People is a awesome movie. It was so funny. Judge Reinhold is a funny guy. I liked him in the first 2 Beverly Hills Cop movies too a lot. Ruthless People soundtrack is good too. I like Luther Vandross's Give Me The Reason song & Billy Joel's Modern Woman song on the soundtrack. I like how Bette Midler was exercising in the basement where they were holding her hostage. She lost all that weight workin out. My mom loves that part when she's exercising.

I was just wondering- has their ever been a movie or a stage play based on Bette's song 'Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy'? Everytime I hear that song I just think that it cries out for someone to turn the song into a story (like Copacabana- there's a play running on the west end now)

Bette Midler's going to be on The Ellen DeGeneres Show for the Thanksgiving Special on 26th November, and is going to sing "Tenderly" before chatting with Ellen. Anyway- if any of you had the time would you be able to make a transcript of the chat- or even just listen out for any news of Bette's work on 'The Stepford Wives'?

There's a lot of bette midler's films I haven't seen- because either they were released before I was a fan of hers, or didn't get a release. I want to see Drowning Mona, and That Old Feeling (isn't that the name of her film with Dennis Farina? He's a great actor- loved 'The In-Laws' tv show)

I am glad the official VHS tape is not ruined! (Its got the original analogue audio from the movie (@ least on the copy I have))

The only other movie on the list I have seen is 'Down & Out in Beverly Hills' and I thought that was stupid :D

I loved Ruthless People and Down & Out in Beverly Hills, two truly classic 80s comedies...

And it's not officially Halloween without watching Hocus Pocus (the sequel was disappointing...)
