Wow, thanks for posting that! There's my 15 minutes of fame, I will gladly take the B... but is the MIDI file really hokey and the site that slow to load - I wonder if the guy was surfing on a 28.8k modem? Maybe they reviewed it on a bad day for the hosting server. Be honest with me guys, does the site take that long to load (especially for those of you with a dsl line or cable modem, I'm 56k and wouldn't say it loads blazingly fast)? I can't help if the sites are popular and get lots of traffic, I'm not made of money. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif

It takes a little but not that long anyhow it's worth the waite....

Yes, TJ, love your site, visit this board a few times a day, but for honest feedback: it does take a long time to load.

At home, I use a 56K modem on my laptop and your site semifrequently causes my computer to freeze up.

Even at work, where I'm a T1 connection, it takes a bit to load.

Might I suggest taking the MIDI file off, cute as it is, I suspect that's what takes so long?

Well, for some reasons on some days it's faster than other days. But it never takes that THAT long to load up.

hrh, the midi file is only about 3k and I've tested it with and without it and noticed no noticeable change. I think the problem is that there are so many sound files (over 1200) and video clips (over 100) spread over the sites, only so many people can connect at the same time. I guess I will need to cough up some more $ for more bandwith that will allow more people to connect simultaneously. During late-night hours things seem to load much quicker, but when there is lots of traffic from 4-10PM things can get bogged down.

The message board fanatics should have been mentioned in the article!

Now that's cool. Way to go Todd I love this site! I don't know what that person was thinking but I like the Midi sound. Also I load this site with a 28.8 modem and it hardly takes that long to download.

As a network engineer, I am paid all day to investigate such problems. Since I'm a geek with no other life, I looked into it a little bit, since I have to wait quite some time for the page to load on my DSL line and on my 10MB/sec pipe at work. There seems to be a common route they take on a backbone router that is a little sluggish. What can you do about this? Not a thing. Sorry.

Anyhow, congrats on your 15 minutes! It couldn't have happened to a better webmaster!

In all honesty all the sites I've visited on "Sitcomsonline.com" take quite awhile to load and I'm on a cable modem-- but I love the sites so I'll wait. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/wink.gif

It doesn't take too long for me..I've got DSL though...it's not the fastest, but a lot of other sites load much slower...

Sometimes the page loads fast and sometimes it's a bit slow. But that is speaking from a 3 year old computer, 56k modem, and a piece of junk (would really like to use a different word here) college server.

Wow TJ! THat is tooooo cool! Brisk man! I have a 56K Modem and a pretty dang old computer, (penium2 but a bunch of ram) and it loads faster than alot of other sites I know of. Still though, even with the so-called "slow loading" your site is obviously the most popular FOL site! Totally cool!
