Sorry for the spelling, but does any body know how Adliene the housekeeper leaves and why?

Adeline, I believe was simply dropped after the 1981-1982 season. I guess the producers were wanting to hire a new housekeeper that would be a feature in all the episodes, where as Adeline appeared ever so often. So in the summer of 1982, Pearl came along. There have been some riverly as to whom was the best housekeeper was. Was it Pearl or Mrs. Garrett. It was funny during Part 2 of the Wedding of Drummond and Maggie episode when Mrs. Garrett wipes her finger onto dust on a table. I would had like to seen more interaction between Pearl and Mrs. Garrett. It would make for some very riot television.
As for Adeline, I don't know why she wasn't in all the episodes the seasons she was on. Mrs. Garrett and Pearl both also got their name credited in the opening squence. Where as Adeline didn't.

Thanks dbk. now that I notice it, you're right, they never did show Adeline and credit her name in the opening sequence. It was always when the show was over in the credits.

Nedra Volz, who played Adelaide, was 72 when she started on the show. I wonder if the reason she wasn't in every episode was simply because she didn't want to work every week. I know that if I'm lucky enough to make it to 72, I'll want to have some time off!

I think Nedra Volz found she could make more money on other shows besides basically "guesting" every now and then on DS. I remember her being on several eps of the a-team and being quite funny too.


Her interactions with Mr T are priceless!!
