I love the Dick Van Dyke Show and bought both Seasons 1 and 2 yesterday! On the Season 2 set, I was glad to see they included all the original cigarette commercials! It's a bit tricky to access them though; they're "hidden." To find them, go to the menu for each individual episode, highlight "opening titles," then press the left arrow key on your DVD remote control. This should light up the top of the portrait of Dick Van Dyke in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. Press enter and then you see the commercials! Some are quite a hoot :p

Wow--great find! I probably would have never found them myself! Are there any hidden extras like this on the Season 1 set? I'll have to check that out. I loved seeing the Cheer commercials and the promo with the cast playing cards on the second disc in the Season 1 box.

Great trick. The thing is that we paid for them so why dont they make them easier to find?

I found them completely by accident!

I've tried the same trick on the Season 1 set, but haven't gotten anything. But I don't think the Dick Van Dyke Show was sponsored by a cigarette company in Season 1.

They're called "Easter Eggs" for a reason...

Besides, they're relatively simple to find.

I just found 'em last night m'self. By accident.

They're so... bizarre. But, I was wondering why they weren't in the extras.

And don't forget, in addition to the cigarette commercials, there are also public service announcements on the Season 2 DVD's. THe 5th disc, in particular, includes a Smokey Bear commercial. Pretty hilarious. The same disc also has a full 27-minute special of "Stump The Stars" with the DVD cast in there. Overall, you can only say good things about the DVD show. By the way, Kent cigarettes did not sponsor the 1st season. In fact, Kent's sponsorhip with DVD actually gave the show a second chance after it was cancelled the first time.
