Favorite Book: The Lucy Book and Love, Lucy
When You Became A Fan: From my earliest memories
Top Five Favorite Shows: "Lucy Cries Wolf"; "Lucy Fakes Illness"; "Lucy Gets Ricky on the Radio [a.k.a. 'Mr & Mrs. Quiz]; "Ricky and Fred Are TV Fans"; "Building a BBQ"
Most Romantic Episode: "Sentimental Anniversary"

Favorite Country Episode: "Lucy Raises Chickens"
Favorite Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour: I haven't seen any of those that I really like
Favorite Character: Fred-- Fred, 'Bub' and 'Uncle Charley' are the type of old crusty wit-snappers that I can see myself being in 20 or 30 years
Least Favorite Character?: Jerry the agent; if he doesn't count, then Carolyn [a.k.a. Lillian] Appleby
Favorite Desi Song: "Not so far from here....I'm on my way to Cuba..."-- it must have been a fantastic place to visit then
Least Favorite Episode (if any!): "Lucy Hires a Maid"-- that woman was too ugly and too pushy to be at all funny

Favorite Ricky Episode: "The Camping Trip"-- probably the one where Ricky most challenges Lucy for deviousness (but guess who wins?)
Favorite Little Ricky Episode: "Ragtime Band"-- I don't really like this ep except for LR's valiant attempts at acting; his part in this ep seems to have been above his level, but he tries
Favorite Ethel/Fred Episode:"Lucy Visits Grauman's"

A Fred Quote: "Now Honeybunch-- is that any way to treat your apple dumpling?"-- just knowing how Frawley and Vance felt about each other makes that line funny
Favorite Book: Meet the Mertzes
If You Could Write A New Show, What Would It Be About?: Titled "Lucy and Mel Cooley"-- Ricky guest stars on the 'Alan Brady Show,' this brings the casts of ILL and DVD together and Lucy and Mel are traveling New York together and somehow they get trapped in a shop or basement all night.
Anything else?: Just 'thank you.' This was a good idea to just have a comprehensive thread about what we like about the show.
crazyredhead 10-24-2003, 05:53 PM hey guys can you tell me why ya'll like Lucy's Summer Vacation (LDCH) the least? Is it really boring?
Kazza 10-24-2003, 07:04 PM I like the "vacation" one because it resembles the silly things women can do to catch the partners attention. Like getting all dressed up for a moonlight walk and the guys have the 'scuse that they smell fishy and have to go to bed early... just married bliss
crazyredhead 10-24-2003, 07:15 PM How many of you love the comedy hours? I looove them! Of course they're not the same as ILL but, they did such a great job on them!! Every one of them is like an ILL movie. The Lucy Hunts Uranium seemed JUST like a movie. And I was watching Lucy Wins A Racehorse last night and that one was really good too. The end on them is so perfect. And every one of them is realllly funny! I so wish they had made more of them. =\ Damn divorce. lol The only thing about them that I don't like is that they're older. But I do like Little Ricky being older. He is soo adorable! He did a great job acting on the comedy hours. =)
Kazza 10-24-2003, 08:46 PM I liked the LDCH but only a few of them. The ones that you mentioned; the Uranium and the Racehorse one I don't like:rolleyes: . I prefer CRUISE TO HAVANA, Celebrity next door, Make room for Danny and Lucy meets the moustache. The only thing I like about Lucy goes to Alaska is Red Skelton and her doing the number; you could even tell that the snow was fake. lol
crazyredhead 10-24-2003, 09:13 PM you dun't like those?? you're umm..j/k lol
dawsongirl 10-24-2003, 10:07 PM Originally posted by I'maDESIlover

Ditto. I like the first one, the Uranium one (maybe because of the cool cars), the Danny Thomas one, and the one where Lucy gets that job on the morning show. The rest seemed too far-fetched (even for Lucy) and as they went on, the cast seemed like they were forcing funny performances out of themselves.

I love all thirteen of them. Of course, I have seen each one about a dozen and one times already which explains why I really don't have a favorite. Before seeing them a dozen times, my original favorites were "Lucy's Summer Vacation" (#10) and "The Ricardos Go To Japan" (#12). I occasionally watch them every now and then but not like the way I used to.
LucyFan 10-26-2003, 09:44 PM Originally posted by crazyredhead

I agree. More comedy hours would have been nice. I think the crew and cast should have done at least ten comedy hours per season instead of only five. If they were have done ten installments per year, then there would be 30 comedy hours altogether by the end of the last season.
Amber8611 10-26-2003, 11:52 PM I like most of the Lucy-Desi Comedy Hours, but not as much as ILL. They just seem different. You could tell Lucy and Desi weren't getting along and the three Bob's and Madelyn seemed to be running out of ideas. A few were exceptional though (Lucy Makes Room for Danny, The Celebrity Next Door...). I've seen each one atleast 60 times, but not recently. One day soon I'm going to sit down and watch every one of them again, my memory is getting kind of rusty, lol.
Kazza 10-26-2003, 11:55 PM At your age you got a rusty memory? lol. I like Cruise to Havana because for a little while L- D seem to be 'happy" again during the 'That means I love you" number. The last episode is heart-breaking; you can see that the emotions had passed from the Arnazes to the Ricardos and it was all so sad. Ricky tries to fake a smile to Lucy and you know deep inside that both were hurting
Amber8611 10-27-2003, 12:29 AM At your age you got a rusty memory? lol
Haha, yup I'm 15 years old and can't even remember what I had for dinner last night (but I can remember each line of dialoge in every Lucy episode and movie, lol. It's selective memory  ) I love "Lucy Takes a Cruise to Havana" too Karen. That one and "The Celebrity Next Door" are the only two that are more like ILL. Maybe it's because Lucy didn't have the wigs in those episodes. I really hate those wigs. The one in "Lucy Meets the Moustache" wasn't bad, because it was longer, but I really don't like the others. Even though she had less wrinkles, I think they made Lucy look years older.
crazyredhead 10-27-2003, 04:58 PM LOL! Amber, I'm 15 and I know how you feel. I'm ALWAYS forgetting stuff!
Yeah, the tension between Lucy and Desi is what I don't like. I even admit, Desi isn't really my favorite on the LDCH's! You could tell he was having problems. But on ILL..hehehe..'s Ricky!!
MagsLovesLucy 10-27-2003, 05:02 PM Ricky Ricardo always seemed cranky in the later LDCH's. :(
crazyredhead 10-27-2003, 08:52 PM Yeah I know..:( He did a real good job getting mad didn't he? lol
Kazza 10-27-2003, 09:54 PM He always had his latin temper
