My favorite show lately in primetime, one of the few I watch now, is American Dreams (Sunday nights, 8/7C, on NBC). It has had one outright and one subtle reference to Bewitched so far this year. In the season premiere, which was set in fall 1964, a young girl talks about a new show about a witch who can twitch her nose and do anything she wants. The girl then twitches her nose a few times to try to get even w/ her brother, I think. She does it pretty well too. In last week's ep, which I just saw on tape last night, the older boy of the main family featured on the show is going thru basic training as a Marine at Camp Lejuene in NC. At one point, his squadron is getting ready to learn how to use gas masks against tear gas. The group called in ahead of him, names read one after another, ends w/ "McMann, Tate...". That was probably not a coincidence but rather a subtle inside joke to all Bewitched fans. It was a fun reference in any case. :)
