View Full Version : Antoine Walker Is Getting Traded To Dallas
isiahthomas 10-20-2003, 03:55 PM Boston Celtics all star forward Antoine Walker is getting traded to Dallas for Raef LaFrentz. Boston also gets Chris Mills & Jiri Welsch from Dallas. Dallas also gets Tony Delk. I saw this on Yahoo.com in the NBA forum. Swimfan85 i know is pissed about this & so am i. Boston is gonna be sorry now LOL. Antoine isn't gonna like coming off the bench. I can tell u that now.
Xxshelly06xX 10-20-2003, 04:58 PM i think the celtics made a good choice, walker isn't that great...
wickthayer 10-20-2003, 05:02 PM I think the Celtics got ripped off. Unless Walker said he didnt want to play on the Celtics anymore. Raef and some other bums? How high is the first round pick going to be next year? Probably in the 20's if it is based on Dallas' record this coming year. What is the reasoning behind this one?
Swimfan85 10-20-2003, 07:37 PM Get rid of Delk fine by me, cuz hes pretty worthless, but Toine, no, hes to much of a leader, and strong player to get rid of this late in the preseason. He worked so hard to get in better physical condition and then they ship him to Dallas...kinda exciting, no. I know that Raef LaFrentz is okay, and the celtics needed someone they could use as center because Tony Battie is injuried. But I dont know if this was the smartest decision, I have so much english crap I have to worry about so I am not really paying attention to the trade. We will see how this trade plays out, I was never big on Toine, but I did think he was good. Hopefully, Danny Ainge made a smart trade, but at this point it is too soon to tell.
Brian Damage 10-20-2003, 08:25 PM I think Walker was a tad overrated. IMO

he is and this is coming from a celtics fan...
flinstoned 10-20-2003, 08:54 PM He may be overated, but LaFrentz is not even rated.
vashti1999 10-21-2003, 12:41 AM Yeah, Dallas may have gotten the better of the deal, but that's not saying much. Now 'Toine can do that stupid wiggle in the big D.
isiahthomas 10-21-2003, 10:02 AM LOL@Lafrentz isn't even rated hahahahahahahahahahaha. Lafrentz is making more money than Antoine too which is a shocker. Dallas has too many forwards. I don't see Antoine fitting in in Dallas. I think Dallas should keep Lafrentz cause he was their starting center. Now who are they gonna have at center? Shawn Bradley? LOL.
jekouptown 10-21-2003, 12:57 PM dont forget they lost TONY DELK and A DRAFT PICK. so mark cuban made a good pick. Lafrentz shoots too many jumpers. Chris Mills is old(last good years was with nyknicks)...but the draft pic..the unknown=amarie stoudamire or someone.
isiahthomas 10-21-2003, 01:36 PM I've heard a lot of people knock Lafrentz game saying he's soft. LaFrentz blocks a lot of shots. He was a monster at Denver when he first came in the league. Chris Mills was only good with the Cleveland Cavs. He did a little somethin for the Knicks but his best yrs were with Cleveland. He did a little somethin for Golden State too. This is Chris's 2nd time playing for Boston. He played for Boston before. Tony Delk has been traded a lot. I wish he could stay with one team & find a home. I hate to see players get traded so much. A lot of players can't even buy a house in the city they play for cause they get traded so much.

he is a better point guard than anyone currently on bostons roster.! Hey..if Paul Pierce is the small forward..tony delk is better than any shooting guard boston has on the rostor also.*lol*

are you serious? no hes not, he sometimes nails 3's but thats because that is all shoots, the only time he came up clutch was during the Indiana series in the playoffs, he is really not that good.

everyone has career highs, hes not good, hes okay, hes never going be a hall of famer, hes not an all-star, and hes not a team leader...he is someone a team can deal without and hes not a promiant member of any team, hes okay and not going be anything more then that

quit being like that maneeeeee.....53 is real good for a career high. tony parker will never ever eva eva eva score 50ish.
isiahthomas 10-23-2003, 04:54 PM I don't think Tony Parker will ever score 50 something points either. Tony Delk ain't no bum Swimfan85. I like his game. I don't understand why he gets traded so much. He's a good player when he's starting. I like his jumpshot. He was tight when he was with Sacramento & Phoenix earlier in his career.

The Celtics got the Mavericks 1st round pick, they didn't lose any picks. This whole trade was done for future reasons....not paying Walker many more millions and being able to pick up a decent FA next summer. Juri Welsch may surprise some and Chris Mills will never wear a Celtics uniform.
