View Full Version : The Ellen Show peter may 10-20-2003, 02:36 PM I have just been watching Ellen Degeneres last new sitcom which was on a couple of years back, I think this show was pretty good, what did everyone else think of it? MrMike898 10-21-2003, 04:44 PM I enjoyed it a lot! I thought Cloris Leachman was hilarious as Ellen's mother. Both "The Ellen Show" and "Bette" were 2 shows I think CBS should have kept on for at least a second season. They were so much funnier than shows like "Good Morning, Miami", which I just can't comprehend how it's still on TV. Adamantium 10-21-2003, 06:52 PM I didn't like "The Ellen Show" (2001-02) as much as I liked "Ellen" (1994-98). I just liked the characters in the 90's show better. Cloris Leachman was funny in the show. I don't know. I mean Ellen's Ellen. She's always funny. I just liked the original series better. That's in my top ten favorite shows. Maybe it was the fact that everybody in the 2001-02 show was weird. Whereas in the 90's show, she was usually the weird one. It was always funny listening to her ramble on whenever in a conversation with somebody. My final thoughts: Both shows were good, but I liked "Ellen" more. Oh, and Lifetime has started with Ellen's second season. In my opinion the third season is the funniest. So keep that in mind when they finally get to that season. webuster 10-29-2003, 01:40 PM I loved 'The Ellen Show'- and I agree both it and 'Bette' should never have been cancelled. I think that CBS were expecting The Ellen Show to be exactly like 'Ellen' was- which it wasn't. Cloris Leachman and the girl that played Catherine were hilarious together. Maybe if Ellen decided to try get 'Ellen' back into production, it'd be given a chance. But someof the cast have moved on. Also- Ellen played down the lesbian theme in 'The Ellen Show'- now it seems that with Will and Grace's success, that it wouldn't have hurt to thrown in some more material. |
