Say, Norman Lear. How do you think the show would have been.
Matthew would have been gay. Bill would of been a vocal homophobic. Every other episode would be "Serious". Catherine, being the sole black character on the show, would be Very vocal about that. Bill and Catherine probably would have been in an inter racial relationship. Dave and Lisa would have a baby together ... out of wed lock. There would be plenty of spin-offs that will all last much longer than anybody wants them to.

Well, Dave would have slept with Lisa, Beth and Catherine. Maybe he would even wake up with Matthew and wonder. Every season would have a cliff-hanger ending. No one would actually do any work, but discuss their sex lives to eachother. Phil Hartman and Stephen Root probably would not even be in the show since they were in their late 40's at the time. The Dave and Lisa relationship would have taken the first season and half of the second for them to finally get together. And then, Dave would probably cheat on her.

Both probably would have been more successful than the "NewsRadio" we all know and love. But they certainly wouldn't be better.

i agree,except it would have sucked ,a sitcom should be just that a comedy.i dont watch much in the way of t.v anymore because it is all a template a copy of what has come before ,news radio simply said sit back we are not going to try and tackel everything we are going to entertain you .it didn't try to push to many personal views on the watcher just tried to have some fun, that was it.and that is why news radio was so great.in my personal oppion is that news radio was the funniest modern sitcom ever yes even over sienfeld.........thanks solofett
